Really? Perhaps I'm wrong, but when I last did it, I selected all the history links in the history window and right clicked on delete. I think cookies were retained.

OK, I didn't do it that way, I'll try that. I just clicked on the delete history at the bottom.
It's so ridiculous that we have to go through this for something so basic.

Instead of updating every year, why don't apple just build in a self destruct node deep within the bowels of each mac sold. After 3.1 years your mac just stops working, a 10 second message ipops up

'your mac is now really old and must be thrown away. Click here to spend another $2000 on a new mac*'

*wifi compatible os is required. If on Yosemite, please limp to your nearest apple store to purchase.

If el wankapan isn't snow leopard in rock formation than mountain lion could be my last ever apple os

2005- Tiger - good
Snow leopard - very good
2013- Mountain lion - good
2015 - yosemite - ewwwww what is this - back to mountain lion

Just been looking at dellboy's Area 51 but I guess apples constant OSupdate strategy is the same as creative cloud

So you totally skipped Mavericks.

Did you not watch?
If you’re talking about Metal, it depends on the Mac in question. Only Macs from 2012 and later can use Metal, though that limitation only applies to integrated graphics. As long as you have a Kepler card or a newer card, you should be fine.
