Honestly, kind of, yeah. I wear a pride band to easily let others know, and I'd assume the same if someone else was wearing one. I wouldn't be offended if a straight man wore one, but it definitely sends the wrong message. (To clarify, imo, that message is that you're a part of the gay community and identify under that banner, and I'm assuming that's not the message you want to send if you do not identify as such)As a straight man; I've always wondered if I use one of this, am I sending the wrong message? hahaha 🤣

They are represented by the black and the brown.Where can I get the Black Lives Matter one? There are folks that are black and LGBTQ you know.
Straigt white male here and I love this band. It looks like candy.Conservative here and politics aside, I think it looks cool. I have the velcro band though, it has been more durable for me.
Really? I'm straight but both my kids are LBGTQ+...I wear mine because I'm proud to show support. A client asked me one day "you in the club?", obviously signifying she was lesbian. I said no, I wear it to support my kids. She beamed with a big old smile, told me to keep up the good work.Honestly, kind of, yeah. That's what I mean. It's great that you support your kids and I wish more parents were like that! But the message it immediately sends is that you are in "the club". You can't just tell by looking at someone if they're gay, but an identifier like that can let you know that it's more likely. Anyone can wear what they want but I'm just saying that's the message it sends to me, why I wear one, and I know I'm not the only one.Really? Devolution and dilution. It no longer means what it stands for and as a gay man, I cannot get behind the agendas of this flag. The amount of homophobia I've experienced from "LGBTQ people" is astounding. The people who buy into this don't actually respect what homosexuality or heterosexuality means, IE "same sex" or "opposite sex." They think it's about being attracted to the idea of a person instead of what a person is, that we just have sex with ideas while ignoring realities. The pride flag recently went though an evolution, to add representation for LGBT* men and women of color, and trans/non-binary individuals.
Just to be clear, being gay is not an identity. It's what my body is. Of course I use words to identify my body, but identifying as my body (or against it) is delusional and cognitive dissonance. You don't have to identify as LGBTQ yourself to support those who do.
Apple is already contributing a portion of the proceeds from the Pride band to LGBT orgs though I'm not sure how much. The orgs are Encircle, Equality North Carolina, Gender Spectrum, GLSEN, the Human Rights Campaign, PFLAG National, the National Center for Transgender Equality, SMYAL, and The Trevor Project in the U.S., and ILGA World internationally. As an out gay cis man I’ve never bought or felt the desire to wear any of the Pride bands - I feel wearing a rainbow on my wrist (or any item of clothing/apparel) to publicly show my sexuality or support a little “off”. I’m simply just not a fan of rainbows!
This braided loop, however, is a great addition to the series by being colourful and tactile in a way the others were not, plus it doesn’t scream Pride as much. It’s funky and fun instead. I feel like Apple should donate 50% profit from each band to LGBTQ+ causes to prevent the type of abuse, discrimination, isolation and damage some people experience in countries where it is not lawful or perhaps religious beliefs dictate it is wrong. Especially helping to support young people after reading the terrible news from Iran. More can be done to help and companies like Apple should do more if they really are serious about support. Here’s the link for anyone that hasn’t read this. Think for a moment how bad this must be. Sadly that’s the world we live in.
Alireza: Alleged killing of Iranian gay man sparks outcry
I find it so hypocritical that gay men treat other gay men terribly most of the year but when Pride rolls round everyone is supposed to be full of support and inclusivity. I spend half my time consoling single gay and lesbian friends who are dumped on by the very people who wear bands and t-shirts all year round. Thank God I’m not single and have a loving partner that feels like I do. Straight, gay or whatever - everyone has the capacity to hate on others even within their own “group” or ‘identity’ regardless of what it is. I don’t go near Pride parades as I find it full of hypocrites! Don’t be gay or straight or bi, pan or anything else - be nice and be respectful to each other!Devolution and dilution. Do not fall for the notion that just because some movement created some icon that claims to be The Umbrella for all labeled-people in that movement, don't fall for it being relevant to all people it thinks it can magically impose itself upon. I'm allowed to be gay and not accept this movement — unless, you know, you hate me.

The primary reason I can't support this new flag/agenda is because it has turned us into ego identities instead of honoring who we actually are. The LGBTQ agenda is an exploitation of homosexual people most of all. Like I said, it now actually gaslights me with some people trying to say I have "a genital preference" instead of being homosexual. It's 1950s Toxic Conservatism all over again.
No thanks.
I'm disturbed to see Apple lick this up, yet not surprised.
Any person who labels me "an LGBTQ person" or "queer," conveniently informs me how mindless and likely homophobic they are. I sure as hell am not "queer," nor complicit with the LGBTQ political agenda just because I'm gay. My homosexuality is not up for sale to politicians and others who think they can make a movement/agenda off my existence.
And I'll hold out indefinitely for the Supergay Pride edition.
Meanwhile, I've got the previous years' rainbows that satisfy me. I always stood behind that flag and will continue to do so.
We are always looking for allies. 😉As a straight man; I've always wondered if I use one of this, am I sending the wrong message? hahaha 🤣

Thank you, yes, I read that but who knows how much as they don’t state it. I guess anything is better than nothing if it helps one person live a better life or provides some education to those that need it.Apple is already contributing a portion of the proceeds from the Pride band to LGBT orgs though I'm not sure how much.
