Be interesting to see reviews for these. A less expensive version of the pros that can do spatial audio, if that's important to you, seems like a nice option. But I'm most curious on what reviewers think of the sound improvements over the Gen1/2 air pods and even more so the comfort, which some people don't love about the pros tip design.

The current ones still do spatial audio /Dolby Atmos. Not sure why they’re trying to fool anyone. The pros and max do dynamic head tracking.

Does anyone know if these have the new feature of being able to be located using random people's iphones or ipads if lost? I really hope these have full FindMy crowd functionality.

These seem nice...but what happened to replacing the previous model at the previous price point?

Under Tim Cook, Apple keeps old models around while introducing new models at higher price points.
What are you talking about. The previously 199 AirPods gen 2 are now 129…..and this new model is 179……the price went down on everything in comparison.

I don't believe the 2nd gen airpods have spatial audio. I have them and I've never seen that pop up?

Squeeze stems. I would have gotten these to replace my 2nd Gen Pods for the gym, but not if it means having the same control issues anytime I'm working out I currently have with the Pro's. Oh well.

Yeah I’m concerned about that and the fact they look super uncomfortable and much bigger than the gen2 which fit me perfectly. These literally look like the pros without the tips and those were a no for me due to comfort.

Unlike the AirPods Pro and second-generation AirPods, the third-generation AirPods is sweat and water resistant, featuring a new contoured design that's meant to fit a wide varify of ear sizes.

The apple website has been updated with a product comparison. It appears that the Airpods Pro are also sweat and water resistant -- is this a feature that was previously unadvertised?

They failed at "Force Controls". Apple needs to get the hell outta Cupertino and try using Air Pods anywhere cold... with Gloves, Mittens, a Hat, Helmet, Hoodie, tangled in a covid mask holding a bag of groceries and a coffee. Tap Controls could be controlled with the side of a thermos through a hat. Force Controls are like the round mouse. Total Fail.
Apple is forcing you to live someplace nice.

Yeah, I'll pass.

I've got a pair of Max for my serious in home listening. I use cheaper AirPods for lawn mowing and short walks. Love having music on the watch (cellular) and not having to carry my phone when doing yard work or short errands.

I think I'll pick up a replacement pair of AirPods for $89 on November 10th from Walmart.

Sweat and water resistance is very good. MagSafe is good. Overall a good update for the Airpods

Ummmm you can’t do lossless over Bluetooth
Once again for the thick skulls in the back…. YES you can hear SOME difference over Bluetooth on AirPods Pro but NO we’re not actually getting true lossless bitrate over Bluetooth—it’s just being sampled from the much better Lossless tracks which will usually make audio sound better.

I like the noise canceling of the AP Pros, but I just don't like the silicone tips that go into me ear canal and they don't fit my ears quite right. I still use them and plan on keeping them, but if there's a price drop on the 3rd gen at the holidays, I plan on picking them up.
