I don’t need absolutely any previous work. It’s called thinking. Try it.

It’s very very simple if you’re even remotely intelligent, to understand the abysmal moves Apple has been making and how to correct them.

It's not the mistake, it's that you didn't read the article but chose to comment. It says her a few lines in. People like you are the reason for misinformation, reading headlines and creating your own story in your head. It's not even a one minute read.

He's a brilliant industrial designer. Sometimes you get a really bad design brief and have to make the best of it.

every design goes through her. if not designing it herself, she's still responsible for approving it. she's even on the promo video for airpods max talking about the design

You nailed it here. It's going to be a combination of what designers want with what engineers can do within cost constraints enforced by others (hello Apple pencil v1 on the new base iPad total cost call there) - and then of course you have the top execs who oversee it all who could affect things.

As others have pointed out, Apple has done astoundingly well under their current CEO, but the company misses someone at the flyover exec level who would put their foot down and say "you know what folks, this really sucks, we can't do it like this.", that Job's did - thinking of Apple Watch v3 carried on for years where you could not do a OS update without doing a factory reset 1st, every single time, or this goofy v1 pencil on the iPad etc..

The company is doing fine without that, but it would do better with someone making these calls and keeping the user experience quality at top notch (for everything). Tough to get someone like that, which the CEO could trust who wouldn't also be an ego centric nut job though.

wonderfully said. this makes a lot of sense. it's so interesting how successful Apple is and how much they're able to get right, yet they miss the mark on such small things that you'd think wouldn't be difficult for them to achieve lol.

I say this all the time, but I truly, truly wish that I can be a fly on the wall in their meetings especially when they discuss things like the Apple Pencil's charging and other snafus lol.

I thought Jobs always quoted someone else “If you’re really serious about software, you’ll make your own hardware”.

Based on that why is software design reporting to hardware design?!

A human hand is rounded, not square. There’s a reason your door knob is rounded, your broom handle is rounded, your steering wheel is rounded, not square. Apple had gone to intelligent design with the iPhone with rounded edges. Now they’ve gone back to unintelligent design in square edges.

It’s truly sad.

Bruv can’t tell I’d joking truly comical or serious.

A table can be round but the edges are 90 degrees for easy carrying and grin not to slip.
A car tire is round yet the contact patch area is flat - again better grip. A Motorola cycles tire is both round and oval to facilitate turning and leaving that car cannot.

Lmao 🤣 wow I wanna put this on boing boing.
