OK, if that was too easy tho , just download a zip file from from the Web for us, and uncompress it and install please. shouldn't be too difficult for the world's most advanced operating system.

What I think is hilarious that actually having a blank home page is considered so amazing that it merited it's own article. How lame!!!!
Ah, moving the goal posts. Quite "unexpected". And ultimately unrelated.

Nope, just set a challenge that after being told how cool this amazing OS was, ultimately it fell flat on its face after being asked to do what the most simplest of computers can do without breaking sweat. But you know this or else you wouldn't have again been hunting for years old articles to prove it could be done. Lame, lame , lame.

Years old because it was possible for a long time, yet seemingly something that is attempted to be used even today as some example of what's not possible that supposedly "proves" something. Lame indeed.

That said, again, all of this is completely unrelated to the topic of this thread, so there really isn't anywhere to go with it, especially here (and all of this has been beaten beyond recognition in many already existing threads all over, and in particular in the alternatives section, so it's not like there's any real point to it even from that side of things).

To run Xcode you don't need a high spec device. My 2013 MacBook Air runs it just fine. It may be a bit slow in creating the build but I bought top of the line back then and it's still awesome.
Sometimes it can be REALLY slow in creating the builds. You know what's even slower? Trying to manage a workflow where you have to do half of your app work on a Windows machine and half of your app work on a never updated Mac. It's not going to be pretty for Apple if they start losing developers—or even really irritating them—because you'll lose the best talent making apps for your platform that refuse to play your game. They'll either create something better, or go to the competition. They can only sustain that for so long.

Erm, that's not how it works to be honest. Developers will not just leave a platform because the machines are taking a bit longer to build a project. Developers will stick to a platform as long as they're making money and iOS is the most money making platform by far at this point.

Out of curiosity, do you need to work on both windows and Mac for the same project? That sounds like a bit of a weird situation to be in.

I was originally talking about if Apple stops developing Macs. Everyone was telling me to just switch to Windows to do all of my creative work, and that would be a big pain. Presumably we're talking several years down the road where creative software is all on Windows because Apple doesn't care about professionals any more. It's not going to work so well if everyone is having to develop on iPads unless they make something way more advanced than we have now.

I see, yes I agree with that. I thought you were developing for either iOS or Mac.

I think this could be very cool, what looks good is the fact that people can use their voice and the word will appear on the video. I wonder if this app will appear with IOS 11 or the next smaller update.

You are so right my friend, just do us a favour, move all the app icons from the home page just leaving a blank wallpaper, shouldn't be too hard now should it?? What's that, you can't, as the only thing the OS does is launch apps and is not really what you'd call a full blown OS, no bother.. ;-)

And just for a bit of banter, enjoy the read...

Ok I gave it a read - interesting article indeed.
But please understand my previous comment was a joke. You do know that this iOS vs Android war should be happening between companies and not users - I hope.

Second - why on Earth would I bother to move all apps to have a blank wallpaper? Seriously. I have better things to do with my life than making blank wallpapers on OS and see if there are widgets and gadgets and whatever stuff around.

I use a product when I have to and for what it is intended to do. I am not saying Apple messed up many things, I am not enjoying at all their flat saturated interface. But I don't spend all day whining on that.
I need to send a message - I send it. I need to make a call, I make it. I use some other apps but I don't linger for hours on them.

At the end of the day, Android is a great OS on premium HW and it sucks like crazy on medium and low end devices. iOS has more or less consistency on the HW (of course because most of it is premium).
In my experience I have had more crashes on Android devices - probably it's a App developer related issue rather than OS issue. This prompted me to make the lame joke before :)

It all boils down to what "eco-system" you have already your stuff in.

I prefer to spend time with my family and friends - there's no Apple or Android OS for these....

It hit me today that Clips "may" support the making of "Wide" Color Videos !

This would make it the third (app) to do so.

Apple's Live Photos was first (via the native camera app).

A (mostly-unknown) third-party app was second.

And now Clips "may" be third.

If it happens, it might just bump-start enthusiasm for Wide Color capture & display, which would be a very good thing ... Samsung is certainly doing their part with their Galaxy S8 !
