I agree, being there is so much better, but the IT infrastructure sucks lakeside.

You should try working on the beach in Bali. You’d be surprised at how much lower your blood pressure can be even while being vexed by trying to tackle a tough problem. The AVP is a great way to do it when your employer won’t subsidize daily instantaneous trips half-way around the world. If your health and the boost in productivity isn’t worth $3500 to you, then you need a better paying job.
Personally I prefer a Mojito outside the Nacionale in Havana, but I would never take work with me. Each to their own. How do you stop the tan around your ski goggles? Is it really okay to use on the beach because that, at least, is impressive.
It's fascinating to me that you feel anybody who doesn't like it is in an inferior position in life and doesn't have enough money or a good enough job to own one.

The please, by all means, go stay in Havana. Have the life you want. Stop telling other people their lives are inferior because they have different priorities.

I’m sitting on the beach right now and don’t have to worry about damage from UV in my living room. It is actually possible to use this device anywhere. Tethered to the iPhone, you can even stream content wherever you take it in the civilized world.

Says the person who mocks people who find value in the device.

So many wasted lives. It is tragic. Thankfully there are people with bricks strapped to their faces pretending they are sat by a lake amongst the mountains when they could actually be there.
But seriously, you really shouldn't let it affect you so much. Different views are what makes it interesting.
I quite appreciate different views... part of that includes not telling people that my choices are better than theirs.

And Betamax was used by the pro's long after the consumer units for VHS left the living rooms...
I was originally going to mention that Betacam was probably in use longer than VHS, but then I realized I still have a VHS deck in my living room (not that I've turned it on in the last decade.) ;)

But it was you that started all of that 🤣. Yes I do mock your attitude that people don't like it because they can't afford it. I do mock that you wear it on the beach, and that in your jet set life you perhaps only take it off to go to sleep. But it is only light-hearted and in response. Did you not mock anyone in your posts above?
But if you like it that's great. I wish you your best life in it. It is the headset and abysmal launch that I have issues with. Sincerely.

Well that is good to hear. We should concentrate on the device. Many of us really dislike it. There really is no need to make it personal tho' I get it if you are retaliating to a previous comment. I certainly never meant to trigger you.

Ok I still have a sVHS player as well. But we are definitely the exception 🤣

I get disliking people, if you are stuck dealing with them, but disliking inanimate objects just seems strange. Not liking them I can understand, but actually disliking something you do not have to interact with seems like such an effort and waste of emotion.

But disliking inanimate objects just seems strange.
Really? I could give you 100s of examples of how common it is, so to me you believing that disliking inanimate objects is strange is, well, really strange. But we are all different. Over and out for now. See you in the next Vision Pro thread.

Pro Air Pods are restricted and can only be sold to doctors, dentists, lawyers and former astronauts. Please see the standard ones if you are a part of the proletariat.

What nonsense. It’s a super successful mainstream audio set of earplugs.

You can believe that. But I think you are confusing people. My snarky comments have only been in response to people who are disrespecting the choices of others.

Yes I do mock your attitude that people don't like it because they can't afford it.

You mock the attitude you think I have. While it is a common human trait to dislike and demean that which one cannot afford, my thesis has been consistent. The AVP is a device for early adopters. It is not for the general public, regardless of whether you have the disposable income to buy it. It is for people who find value in it. As I detailed above when someone stated in absolute terms that it wasn’t worth $3500, it has more than that value to me. Luckily, I can afford it. If I couldn’t, then I wouldn’t buy it. I’m not a jealous child with a need to tell others that the stuff they have is bad merely because I can’t have the same.

It is fine if it doesn’t have that value to you. But you might want to stop mocking people who find value in it.

I do mock that you wear it on the beach, and that in your jet set life you perhaps only take it off to go to sleep.

Actually, I don’t wear it on the beach. That was you demonstrating your ignorance of the product. Bali is an environment one can access on the device. When I want to block out everything in my office or living room, I turn on the Bali environment and sit on the beach while I work.

Did you not mock anyone in your posts above?

Mock? No. I did return your attitude to you, however.

As I said, I understand not liking an object, but dislike is a far more active verb which the dictionary shows as "feel distaste for or hostility towards". As you said to me "seriously, you really shouldn't let it affect you so much."

It must be really healthy to wear AVP daily on your face for several hours. LOL

Anything that you do without moderation has that tendency to not be healthy. Like, random example, following discussions about products one has no intention of buying with the sole intent to leave negativity in the comments section.

I didn’t say it’s use case was to be an iPad replacement. I don’t use it exclusively as an iPad. But, when I am using it as a virtual display and/or consuming streaming media, I don’t use my iPad. I could, but it is more convenient to bring up a window in AVP with the iPad app I want to run. The advantage of using the AVP instead of the iPad is that I can open several different apps and have them open in different easily viewable windows.

No. It doesn’t invalidate what I said. The AVP can replace a flat screen in some use cases. You’ve merely come up with one use case where you want a communal television — watching with family. That use case is different from having a personal and portable 120” television that you can use in the backyard, in your home office, in the garage, in a hotel while you are on a business trip, etc.

Wrong. As many people have said on this forum and others, using the AVP as a virtual monitor (especially with a laptop) is a primary motivator. It definitely was for me.

It makes sense. You simply aren’t looking beyond your personal opinions. Other people have different requirements, needs, preferences, and financial resources.

If AVP can sometime replace iPad/TV/AppleTV in some use cases, then your AVP value proposition doesn’t make any sense.

You will end up with AVP and all other products together. You aren’t really saving any money by replacing TV/iPad/Mac/Monitor etc…You are simply spending $3500 for a thing that get used occasionally.

No, I didn't. Guy brought it up with his "how to lower your blood pressure" using AVP.

That’s why we have a quotation system here to make sure you respond specifically instead of looking to write a standalone non related response. Your post that I quoted has no relation to the post it follows.

WOW! 142 comments in total - with a dozen from you. If this was Reddit they'd probably have to shut down the subforum from over-participation. I mean this thing is FIRE! If I'm an Apple Exec working on the Vision Pro marketing and happened across a MacRumors article about the release in two new countries, immediately saw that OVER 142 COMMENTS AND STILL COUNTING were already there in the first two days, I tell ya, I'm gonna make some decisions for new country introductions based upon that alone. FIRE, I say. This thread is on FIRE!
