Apple Announces 'Wonderlust' Event Expected to Feature iPhone 15, Apple Watch Series 9 and More

Everyone have a choice wether they want to upgrade or not. I am upgrading my 14 Pro Max, as I have the disposable income.

Absolutely everyone has a choice, no way would I ever dispute that. I was just curious as to what is exciting people about upgrading from the 14 Pro to the 15 Pro. Not sure if having the disposable income is reason enough. I have the disposable income for that and a lot of things, it often takes more than that alone to compel me to spend. So I was merely asking what those reasons were. I do think the iPhone has plateaued somewhat, but that’s testament to the strength of the product and maturity of the platform. But that’s just a personal opinion.

That would be enough to upgrade my XR, but the upgrade will have a lot more for me.

My uncle works at Nintendo and he says all new iPads will have joy-con rails and come with an Apple Silicon native Switch emulator, allowing access to Nintendo’s online store.

I think the interpretation of all the rumors should be viewed a little differently.

Wonderlust is hinting at the desire to explore the outdoors. The titanium dust is for a new iPhone Ultra that will match the Apple Watch Ultra. It will be the only phone with titanium and an action button, maybe additional satellite connectivity, improved water proofing, extra screen brightness and bigger battery. This is the phone that will be delayed at launch, per the rumors. This is also the phone that’s getting a price bump and base storage bump.

The remaining iPhone lineup will be similar to last year, with pro models still being stainless steel, but with Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, A17, and big camera improvements. Regular iPhone 15 will get 3.1 USB-C, A16 processor, and new aluminum colors.

Does walking around an outdoor mall count as exploring the outdoors because I really want to justify an Ultra 🤭

The rumors of USB-C annoy me. A company so worried about waste in the world is about to make everyone get new damn cords.

If you own any of the rest of the Apple lineup, you almost certainly have some USB-C cords. They are just about ALL using it for years now.

To be fair, Apple is being strong-handed by the EU on that front. It could have decided to stick with Lightning outside of EU, but there are other benefits to USB-C (data speeds improvements, depending of the protocol, and faster charging) that would benefit for certain users. Lightning was an outdated port anyway.

And not everyone will have to get new cords. Many people on this forum own an iPad or a Mac. Many own a PC, a Nintendo Switch, maybe some third party earbuds or a PlayStation controller. Many of them charge with USB-C. I already have a few cables laying around my house, and I know it's the case of many others.

I really don't see Apple doing mass production with titanium iPhone Pros, they sell too many. It will be a separate iPhone Ultra, like Apple Watch Ultra.

Personally I think the periscope camera is the biggest upgrade between the 14 / 15 Pro series from what we know so far.
A faster chip is a given but the 14 Pro isn’t exactly a slouch 😂
I didn’t think we’d see Apples own 5G modem until the gen after though. Have you heard differently?

The press are invited to come watch the streaming video in person. Then they and the "friends of Apple" (so called) influencers get to play with the new toys for short bits of time... and then go write/film glowing, gushing praise and "reviews" for the best ___________ ever.

I know! FINALLY the phone will get with the times. I'm happy to get rid of lightning cables. They were the best when they came out but have long since been supplanted by superior technology (usb-c)

I have a ton of lightning cables that I’ll be holding onto for extras for my kids and fiancé. I do have the 2 USB-C cables that came with my iPads and the few extra that I purchased, so I’ll be okay. I rarely had lightning cables that defaulted on me.

They probably all will be done this way from now on. Easier to make with no mistakes. Cheaper in the long run too.
They can show everything. The people are invited for hands on with new hardware.

I haven’t heard. I definitely could keep my 14PM for longer than a year, but I want the newest iPhone 😂.
