I am wondering if Apple will show anything about the next major release of Mac OS X - Lion ?

VERY unlikely. It probably won't be out until 2010.

I mean, they could maybe show one feature, but all that would do would draw attention away from the iPhone (which they're trying to sell NOW) So what would be the point?

Or what if we're looking at 10.6 allowing windows and mac apps to run side by side without any Boot Camp/Parallels etc? Red Box?

so exciting. I wish I could go.

Uh, maybe what they said in their first sentence?

It's about OS X Leopard and OS X iPhone. Two similar products that take you different places, yet work the same.

lol. i know right. READ!

What happens when they run out of cats to name the OS?
I mean, a Lion is at the top of the food chain.

Symbolism?

Oh, oh... they've built another Golden Gate Bridge!? Sweet!

Seriously though, lets not speculate on the two bridges all the way until June... the only thing I see here is that Apple has a good marketing department.

SJ: "...and today we're very excited to announce a revolutionary product that we like to call the 'iBridge'"

Oh it's more than your average network bridge - the iBridge, can connect land masses together!
[/sarcasm]

You know what would be cool? Cocoa framework on Windows. For example, one codebase for Safari that would run under OSX and cross compiled for Windows. Which would explain two destinations.

Hey I can wish right?!?!?!?:D

P.S. I know I'm dreaming, please keep the flames down. If I were a betting man, I'd bet on iPhone and OS X.

I'm expecting Apple to discuss the iPhone heavily but I don't think that will carry the whole conference. The iPhone is still an small (yet emerging) segment of their overall developer community. It would be a waste of a trip for us developers who specialize on the OSX and its app development. I would assume that there would be announcements for features of "10.6" or whatever it will be called. Maybe even some insight into where the current line of Mac products are going. I can't see a 5 day event only about the iPhone. That's overkill.

And if it were M$ building the bridge it would look like this?

My friend in Asia says there will be G5 Powerbooks next Tuesday! I wonder why they don't wait until WWDC to launch something like that...

Except in the Graphic the Golden Gate Bride is split in two from the north going south into the city - both Bridges lead to the same city (San Fan - one to the old Naval base and one towards the Embarcadero - which is touristy, China Town and the Financial District:) ).

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A102 Safari/419.3)

I'm hoping for a 10.6 preview.

it would be so sick if they introduced a redesign iphone... I would rather not have them update the MBP... I just bought mine, so you all can wait.
