Ugh.

Phil freaking Schiller.

My thoughts exactly. Love the profile picture.

And AAPL stock starts to fall rapidly... ;)

&

And here come the rumors of Steve Jobs' demise in 3...2...1...

Unfortunately you BOTH are almost spot on with timing and truth. Let's hope this missed appearance is on purpose to TEACH investors that are just in Apple for the cash & value that its not about the CEO alone that runs a company. Even the mighty and visionary Steve Jobs cannot live forever.

aaaa lets hope for a surprise kind of guest appearence during the keynote. ie. one more thing... and there is Steve healthy and all

This is the BEST idea for WWDC I've heard since Jobs temporary leave of absence. This would jump their stock another $15-30US and HOLD at that price in a matter of minutes. If not, for sure those lucrative investors will permanently - and possibly dangerously - tie Steve Jobs to Apple's stock price value. Even giving Jobs the ideal that he can live forever.

One More Thing...

One MORE Thing...I give you the Almighty...Steve Jobs!!!!!

::Crowd goes wild::

SJ: Guys still no iTablet...pb G5...etc etc but I am back in 4 weeks....

Well... no Steve is one big disappointment!

Hope the whole event isnt as big a disappointment as MacWorld this year was <shudders>

Also hope the the MR live stream doesnt disappoint <trembles>

iWoz afraid it would come to this.

What? That would be great!

“Be built this new iPhone with 40% less chips! It's also a universal remote and I wrote this floppy driver that uses the cycles where the screen isn't drawing.”

That's what I'm thinking. At the very end, after everything has been presented and someone is in the middle of talking on stage, Steve Jobs slowly walks onto the stage, while talking on a cell phone (and appears to be unaware of his surroundings), and then Steve is done with his call and casually says hello to the person on stage, and the person on stage says "what's that Steve?" and Steve says "what?" "That thing in your hand." Steve casually, unexcitedly says, "oh, that's the new iPhone." The other person says "WOW!!! REALLY???!!!! Can I see it? What's new?" And Steve shows him the phone, while the microphones and cameras capture it all. (in reality, the other exec literally has not seen the final product, and really is surprised)

and then you wake up from your dream :p

Actually, the friends who suggested this to me weren't trying to aggrandize themselves in telling me. We discussed it over dinner. I am not trying to aggrandize myself either.

I have the greatest respect for Steve Jobs, as well as gratitude for the great technology he has enabled us all with.

My hope is that Steve remains in good health. Whether or not he continues to run Apple would be secondary in my mind, even though I don't know the guy and believe that his departure from Apple would suggest to me that Apple has already reached its zenith, whereas under him, the sky is the limit.

As for your rather holier-than-thou post, this is a rumors site, and that's the rumor that I heard. I didn't post it to somehow rise in stature or accrue any status. This is just a place to talk about Apple and their products to me, not the community in which I live. Get a life.

So, this would be where you 'hyde' then?

Steve's health is his business. You're a doctor, you of all should know that.

What about Bertrand Serlet? He did a demo a few WWDCs back that was really good, much better than Phil's efforts. So what if he has a thick French accent, he's the Senior Vice President of Software Engineering so he should at least do the Snow Leopard demo.

If Bertrand Serlet (ala "The Funny Frenchman") comes on stage then I am sorry to say that I'll be skipping that part of the presentation. I'm sure that he's very intelligent and this isn't anti-French, but his "let's take the piss out of Vista" section a few years back when he last made an appearance was about as entertaining as nails on a chalkboard.

I loved that! I think he is cool and is accent is quite cute. I would like to see him do keynotes. And I like Phil too. Steve can't stay at Apple forever. I know he will be back, but when it comes time for Steve to retire (if he ever does) Apple needs to get people used to other people doing the keynotes besides Steve Jobs.

Geez, not "The Pig" again. Look at him, his physical appearance is disgusting.

WWDC != ANTM. this so-called "pig" is more intelligent, witty and successful than your dumb ass ever will be. wake up, troll.

Really? A cruel, superficial judgement is more acceptable than Phil Schiller's physique? I think the fact you are offended by somebody else's BMI speaks more for what is wrong with society.

Very well said

I'd like to see Janathan Ive launch a new Mighty Mouse at WWDC *sigh*
My gut feeling 'one more thing' will be Steve Jobs returning to Apple and I hope, launching a new iPhone *dreams* and a new Quad Core iMac with a 2TB HDD. I can dream, can't I?

Okay...

...I could probably understand MacWorld and how that went down, but not having Steve Jobs present WWDC!? That's just crazy. He is like the ringmaster of the whole damn organization. This is something that just doesn't seem like him. Maybe he will make a suprise appearance or something (he probably might present the new generation iPhone and/or the new tablet device that is stirring a buzz on the Internet and the the industry. He just can't cannot do the show or not even show up...

Ain't that the truth. Phil has knowledge man, pay some homage. All of us are just saying it doesn't seem like Steve to miss out on a major event like this. We're not ridiculing Phil. Listen to my homie here and take some advice - wake the hell up.

Just a thought I had... does everyone one REALLY thing that product launches hinge on Steve? I for one dont really care who presents it, as long as its a good product. I would bet 99% of the people who buy apple products couldn't care less who presents the new products. Its just the hardcore fans on the message boards that it really matters too...

I dont think it matters...at all.. anyways just my opinion

I think Apple will be happy if people realize that. Steve brought the company back from near extinction, and he's a great speaker and innovator, and deserves a lot of credit. However, if he never came back to Apple, they would continue to produce incredible products and innovate and would continue to be a successful company (barring any really bad leadership getting in, of course). I want Steve to stick around for a long time, but I also hope they diversify their product launches even more, so people stop associating Apple with Steve Jobs, and instead associate them with really cool products more directly.

That's horrible, not called for.

Agreed. Yes, Jobs probably has had a decent say about what goes on in the development of Snow Leopard and the iPhone, but no it doesn't make ANY difference to the products themselves or the content of the keynote if someone else does it.

********.

I disagree with the idea that Schiller is really that bad, but in general people who are seriously obese are that way be choice and it's just as selfish and disgusting a choice as handing out poisoned candy to children. Our consumption is the direct cause of the skewing of resources that leads to people starving to death all over the world. If you're fat, you kill people. Not to mention that you are a huge leech on the rest of us via insurance premiums, and you put your family through hell when you drop dead of a heart attack at 50 and your kids don't get to have a grandparent.

The idea that obesity is a personal choice that is nobody else's business is a disgusting, deadly lie. Obesity has far more impact on your fellow humans than, say, second hand smoke.
