How many of us believe that the lottery will be totally random? Certainly the "marquee" developers — folks like the Angry Birds team, Facebook mobile, etc. — will be admitted no matter what.

Apple will designate a certain number of tickets for high profile developers, students, and media. The remaining tickets in the lottery pool (about 5,000) should be totally random.

The way Apple is doing it this year is much better. Instead of randomly going to their site and being able to make a decision on dates, clear it with your boss and purchase tickets in under 71 seconds, this is a more thoughtfully planned out way to sell tickets. Nobody is in a rush - and it feels like a rush, like winning the lottery when you get tickets. Not the frustration of 'I was on the site, but the server wouldn't let me submit' issues.

Additionally, Apple will now know the hard numbers - how many people actually want to go to WWDC. Will it be 6,000 - 10,000 - 50,000 - 100,000? And where those developers are from. Maybe this will help Apple in the future to decide on having a second WWDC, and where to have it (like London?) or being able to handle more people possibly (although that's tough)

So the new Macbook Air  will be announced and the new Macbook Pro's but they won't be released till the fall because Intel is fine tuning the new Broadwell chip:D

Maybe other items but we'll just have to wait and see

Sure look like it. I'm sticking with my prediction that we'll get an Apple TV SDK at WWDC.

Yes - that's all we'll get. I hope most people can stay grounded and understand this.

WWDC is a Developer's conference - for DEVELOPERS. Apple will introduce things that developers will see for the first time, like an SDK for the Apple TV. Real hardware won't come out until September. Developers need time to create the software. It can't be done overnight.

TV Shape invite. The colours are pixels.

Thats the most obvious invite yet. New Apple TV no doubt.

It may not be release, but they often announce the products.

But it's not like Apple doesn't announce hardware there. 2010 WWDC was all about iPhone 4. If we don't get a new ATV box at WWDC I hope at least they announce a new UI. The current ATV UI is horrible IMO.

Predictions:
Next iOS and OS X versions (obviously).
4K Thunderbolt Display with thunderbolt 2.
Mac refreshes, 12" retina macbook (air) intro, possible discontinuation of 11" and 13" MBA and 13" macbook.
AppleTV with App Store.

It's rare for Apple to announce hardware, except for hardware developers use in their daily lives like laptops.

Yes, it's possible, but I think a September event for hardware is what Apple is trying to do in the future.

We will probably get a preview of the next version of OS X: Kardashians. The next iOS, and hopefully Apple TV SDK.

If the logo is any indication of what we will see at WWDC14, I think the people betting on an Apple TV SDK with support for gaming and an Apple TV App Store might be right. That certainly aligns with rumors. (This is a rumors site, so no complaining about speculating on rumors, please! lol)

Obviously, we will see the future of iOS and OS X, too... and possibly some hardware announcements as well. Maybe we will finally get an introduction or at least some hints of those new product categories Tim is always going on about! ;)
