Not me.

I need to be able to fast-forward since Tim talks so. frakking. slow.

Steve and maybe Scott Forstall made keynotes interesting/energetic. Alas...

Phil's not too bad. Hoping for another line like "Can't innovate anymore my ass".

Would love to see Jony Ive take the stage for something.

Come on, it's not like Apple to say 'New MacBook Airs' on the announcement, is it? Everything is quiet. But usually, WWDC includes a few updates. Hopefully a new Apple TV!

That's my point! Apple didn't mention anything about hardware so we shouldn't make assumptions (i.e. basing it on what was announced last year).

Would love to see Jony Ive take the stage for something.

Tim would be considered ultra fast compared to Jony.

"Developers LOVE to try and create wonderful experiences on as many platforms as possible. That's why we at Apple are pleased to announce that you can now start developing for the brand new Apple TV with AppStore"

Exactly and each square also represents the number of years it would've taken for each of these companies to become innovative on their own if Apple never came to life. ;)

Could you care you name 5 true innovations that Apple have done in the last 10 years... Making something thinner, lighter, faster etc isn't an innovation. That's just natural progression.
Actually coming up with something NEW.. take your time.. 99% of their stuff existed prior to them buying/stealing/copying it...
As you were.bold enough to make a bold statement lets see you back it up...
It's possible to like a company's products without actually being blinded to the reality of how they came into existance..

Tired of the new release schedule. We should have had a beta right now. Microsoft delivered new hardware and software yesterday. Google delivers new hardware and software in June. Apple isn't special. They had a great schedule before, why change it?

Remember this?

Issued in April. Beta till June. Released in June.

I'm laughing at the people who see "Apple TVs", "OSX Icons" or "Pixels" in the announcement, you guys have quite the wild imagination. Actually, it's pretty obvious what this is about, Tim Cook was 100% spot on when he was talking about "new product categories"

I just hope Mac Minis will be part of this; of course I'd like them sooner, but it seems less and less likely to happen as its press release/spec bump, so maybe at this event? I just hope my Mac Pro can last that long!

Don't like the lottery idea.

It hurts the small(er) developer.
If you have a large team of 60 devs you have a much greater chance of sending someone in your team. However if you are a group on 2/3 your odds are much less.

However I don't know how else to do it. Last year it was sold out in under 3 minutes this year would have been even crazier.

It's actually a quote from Picasso that Steve Jobs stated. I'll inform you what it means, so you don't improperly use it again.

Google for the meaning behind what Picasso said. Picasso didn't mean he STOLE other's paintings, he STOLE other ideas and re-invented them himself.

Of course, you'll just continually apply the quote to suit your needs, I understand.

You assumed what I meant based off of me responding to someone else by referencing a quote that someone else referenced.

My point was innovation doesn't begin and end at apple.

Not that serious to me either way :rolleyes:

Don't get me wrong. Apple have a ton of smart, innovative people who are quite capable of developing great products. I'm just not sure whether any of them can "inspire" others to excellence in quite the same way that Steve could.

I see a puppy, a dancing woman in ethnic african costume, and a map of China.

What does it mean?!

And the therapist responds, "What do you think it means?"

You talk about others having a wild imagination!?? An airplane window?

I know this -- it's the re-introduction of the 24" iMac and a new 30" iMac but this time is multiple colors. You can choose your favorite color directly on Apple's website after the announcement. The selected color will be applied to the black frame surrounding the display, chin and back of the computer. The Apple logo on the front of the iMac will then light up in white and pulsate when asleep.

As Jony Ive would have said "Bla. Bla. Something about design" Phil Schiller says: "We've done it again. We've listened to our "customers". Behold. The New iMac - let's get back to where we started with the first iMac" "Colors for your iMac"

You'll get the computer in a rainbow colored box. No more will you feel out of place when leaving the Apple Store, if you pick up there, with a bland white box - now you can show your true colors with the colors of the rainbow. Lovely.

Once again, its time for Apple to show everyone who's the BOSS. :D:cool::apple:

If they actually do that... We'll see... I really hope they do but lately man I've been pretty disappointed and not really hopeful. I don't think that their current culture of not listening to customers and being super closed to any kind of customers being able to configure things to their needs/desires would ever change.

1.) I'd love for the Apple TV to have an SDK and let developers make apps, even apps that communicate with other media servers like Plex or XBMC

2.) I'd love to have access to additional keyboards made by companies that focus on keyboard and mobile device text entry. The iOS keyboard really is bloody awful save for a few key features they did a good job on. We're the only platform that doesn't allow users to choose a different/3rd party keyboard and/or the only platform that doesn't have some sort of swipe based keyboard.

3.) I'd love for them to open up Siri so it can actually interact with 3rd party apps AND also keep us up to date with things going on like Google now. I like that without me having to do anything, when I invoke Google now, it lists all my flights, all packages I'm tracking to be delivered, sports scores and a host of other things. I'll I did was swipe up and it just shows you everything, you didn't even have to tell it to track that stuff; it just does it automatically based on emails you received.

4.) I'd love to be able to choose what toggles I actually have access to in the control center... I mean it's called control center yet I don't have any control over what's in there. Same goes for the quick app shortcuts (calculator, flashlight, etc...) that are listed in the control center.

5.) I'd love to be able to swipe notifications away 1 by 1 in the notification center rather than having to get rid of a whole section at a time.

6.) I'd love have the ability to at least change somewhat of how iOS looks. I just don't like the all white, all the time look. And changing the colors shouldn't be at the expense of animations etc... I shouldn't have to turn transparency off just to knock out the white on white look. Why not give us color options so we can choose the styling of our devices?

7.) I'd love, man oh man would I love if we could finally dictate our own default apps to handle different data. I'd like to dictate the default app to handle PDF's, the default maps app if I don't prefer apples, the default web browser if I don't prefer Safari, the default email app if I don't prefer Apple Mail... the default <fill in the blank> for other file and/or event types. It's almost like Apple has the mentality that only their products are sufficient to default and front and center. Instead of not allowing us to replace Apple apps as our go to, why not just be grateful for the fact that we are using iOS/iPhones at all and just let us have different options when we find better value in other offerings...?

Look I get it, Apple likes to be the best and they think that their opinions are the best and often times they truly are. But there are some things where leaving room for users preferences and individuality would be beneficial; especially to the end user who these devices are suppose to be about serving in the first place. I also get that they need to protect the user experience because their name is on the line. But how does that work when some of their very own products are the ones with the poor user experience in the first place and a 3rd party company has a better option however user's aren't allowed to have those as go to apps? If your main concern is user experience then why does it matter if the user get's that good experience elsewhere as long as they are doing it with one of their devices?

All I'm saying is I would love if this WWDC was where they stuck their flag in the sand and said 'alright we get it, some of our users like different things than what we offer, so we are going to give it to you in a great and innovative way'. iOS is a great product but it can also be a great platform if Apple would allow it. Sometimes it just feels like customers/users are punished for being loyal but also wanting more ability to cater their device to their own individual needs. The 'my way or the highway' mentality just doesn't fill everyones needs. But the fact is we LOVE Apple and their products and want to stay loyal.

This WWDC, please throw us a bone Apple. Just 1. Pretty please :)

Sorry, this started out as a normal post and then ballooned into a rant.

Making something thinner, faster, lighter IS the very definition of innovation. It's not a new INVENTION - that would be INVENTING.

Innovation definition: make changes in something established by introducing new methods, ideas or products.

JUST 5? ok... 5 true innovations since 2004 - lightning adapter, magsafe plug, iPhone, iPad, Mac Pro.

Multi-touch, thinner, faster, lighter, better battery life on their laptops, XCode, iWork, iLife, iCloud... etc. etc. etc.

Yep, that's why I was asking. Pretty sure it's already sold out!

A sane person could never understand these stupid people who are extremely eager to expose themselves, so that they always comment about an article they didn't read even ONE BIT OF IT!!! WHY are there so many FOOL in the world!!!!!!

This is comedy gold.. by your definition every firm innovates because every new product is a teeny bit better than last years.... Did you really say multi-touch?.. wow. Every ounce of credibility was gone there and then .. I'll give you a point for magsafe.. That's a good New invention/innovative idea... IWork? Please. At least you saved a small ammount of face by not putting "retina display" in your list...

It won't "sell out", it's a lottery.

It will sell out. It just won't be the cat fight etc of previous years

----------

How quickly will they sell out this time around?

I think two or three developer conferences a year would be better. That way they can educate more developers. I'm sure the developer site acts really slow and some won't get their tickets in time. Although I like the lottery idea that they are using this year.

The biggest draw of WWDC is time with the actual engineers. Of they did enough WWDC times to make everyone happy nothing would get created cause they would always be at WWDC

----------

It's not "selling out" this year, that's the whole point of the lottery.

Not really. Selling out means all of an item has sold. Apple isn't giving away these tickets. They are still being sold. They are just randomly selecting who gets to buy. Not unlike how they dealt with the resellers in China but doing a similar lottery to buy iPhones and iPads.

So yes they will likely get more than enough interest that they will sell every slot and thus sell out
