The circle shapes in the design represents the Apple Watch Store and the Square rounded edges shapes represent the iOS App Store.

Bringing the focus heavily on new capabilities of apps for both the iDevices and Watch.

In addition to their new found focus on health kit.

Just my guess.

My real hope is that they do something about their naming conventions. Can we get away from naming things with silly numbers. I mean iphone 6 and 6+, iPad Air 2? Really? And same for the OSs. Please give me iOS flat and OSX Gibraltar and forget the numbers.

It seems that Apple is trying, but conflicted internally.

The back of my Apple iPhone 6 just says 'Apple iPhone'....
The iPad 3 was simply 'iPad with Retina Display', iPad 4 was the 'New iPad', iPad 5 is the 'iPad Air', then we go back to 'iPad Air 2'????

Just keep one name, like we do the MacBooks, MacMinis, Macs, and then put a 'Mid 2014' or something like that on it.

Hmmm..I'm 17 years old and I have an iOS app. Should I submit it? It's nothing impressive, though. Just a fun chemistry related app.

Does anyone think this looks suspiciously like the photos icon? Maybe they are going to roll out a major update to photos or talk about photos pro or something?
The design is based on rounded squares and circles. Does this signal a subtle update to Apple's design language for apps and graphical resources?
Could this signal an update to Apples rounded-square-shaped hardware like the Mac Mini, Apple TV, and even AirPort Express / Extreme / Time Capsule?
Are they going to announce something groundbreaking for would-be cable cutters with a paid Apple TV subscription?
Well, that's my speculation based on the image so far :)

Interesting that they've used quite a lot of drop-shadow on the design.

This kind of translucent design would actually work better completely flat – so maybe they are hinting at the return of more shadows and a less 'flat' interface?

They'll probably just add a little more depth to the interface. Not going back to the old dated 3d design

The rounded square in the middle is definitely the shape of an Apple TV. Also, hasn't the television traditionally been known as the centre (i.e. epicenter) of a home?

I think Homekit might actually get a big boost.

[You guys are on to it.] The new TV is coming! Fiiiiiinally

An app store, HomeKit on steroids and a new 'always on' hub for the house to connect everything. The epicentre.

Watch + iPhone will be your UI. TV will be the brains to coordinate with all the 'iThings' that'll connect seamlessly with the new APIs.

TV with new partnerships will further sever your connection to traditional cable and the extra A8X muscle will pave the way for gaming to become 'console like' experience; iPhone/iPad/iPod will be your game controllers.

We always read way too much into the invite. It's squares with rounded edges for iOS icons and circular icons for the Watch (and/or Mac).

Well, that logo is just screaming "APPLE TV" front-and-center, with a backdrop of Photos.

Interesting to see that the day after I wander into an Apple Store and see a premonition of an Apple Television hanging on the wall markedly by itself with almost no indication of what & why:

Apple announced on Tuesday that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference takes place this June 8 to 12 at Moscone West in San Francisco. WWDC 2015 will feature over 1,000 Apple engineers, more than 100 technical sessions, hands-on labs, and the Apple Design Awards. Apple also says it will share the future of iOS and OS X at the developer event, presumably iOS 9 and OS X 10.11.Apple will be offering developers the opportunity to apply for tickets to attend WWDC 2015 based on a lottery system also used last year. Registered developers must have signed up to the iOS Developer Program, iOS Developer Enterprise Program or Mac Developer Program as of the WWDC 2015 announcement on April 14 at 5:30 AM PT to be eligible for a chance at tickets.

WWDC 2015 tickets will cost $1,599 and Apple will inform the developers that were randomly selected to attend the event by April 20 at 5:00 PM PT. WWDC Scholarships are also available to students and members of participating STEM organizations around the world. Apple specifies that developers between 13-17 years of age must have their submission completed by their parent or guardian who is an eligible member.

What if I told you that there's no hints and this are just random shapes with pretty colors?
