I've been wondering if Apple will keep the existing ATV3 but also introduce a more powerful ATV4 that you would only need one of in your house to serve as the hub for HomeKit and to cache and hold data for your other ATVs?

It doesn't make sense that you would need to buy multiple more powerful ATVs for each of your televisions as the extra capabilities would be redundant. The current ATV3 is perfectly capable of delivering content to a screen. I've kind of had this feeling ever since it was pointed out that the Apple Store advertises the ATV as being priced "from" $69.

Seems like one AppleTV Plus would be a great HomeKit hub, etc. and then other TVs could work off the current ATV model which would be software upgraded to integrate with the AppleTV Plus over your home network. Maybe the AppleTV Plus could finally be configured to support external storage and become the host of your iTunes library instead of having to keep a computer turned on.

It's not the same though. :)

I know, but it sounds like you have a really packed schedule and it doesn't sound like a good idea to tire yourself out even further. For me, the event will start at around 1.30 am, so I gave up staying up late to catch it.

I mean, the product unveilings are great and all, but I find they are lacking a certain something after Steve's death. I don't mind catching it if the timing is convenient, but I no longer find it worth my while to put everything aside for it.

Might be relevant for the local US market, but WWDC has a more global focus.

But wouldn't a real shakeup include worldwide digital rights and content distribution? Maybe HBO available in Spain and Australian TV available in the States, etc? I wouldn't expect it to happen overnight, but this could be the beginning.

Doesn't it seem as if Yosemite was just released. Hopefully some major improvements forthcoming since there's still a lot of bugs to be worked out.

while i hope for a new Apple TV for the 4 rooms with one already in my house and I think that one is coming any day now, I think most are reading to much into it.

The pictures, if anything, are a mixture of apple watch and iPhone icons. I starts in the middle with just the iPhone icon being the center piece and shows as it blooms the integration between apple watch and iPhone icons.

I am betting that this is going to be mostly about how the iPhone and apple watch can compliment each other and a big push for developers to make apps that will get people to buy more watches.

**I hope that it goes deeper with integrating everything together like the watch, phone and Apple TV, I want to be able to easily use my watch for controlling my apple tvs.

Random selection won't please everyone, I hope Apple adapt to the reality and find a bigger venue. Its 2015 FCOL!

'Epicenter' is the Apple TV. The new device will be the 'center' of all your Apple products in your home. It will talk to your home's lighting, security system, temperature control, etc. and will be able to be controlled by an Apple Watch or iPhone. All your devices will be easily connected, and information will pass through each.

Apple will kick-start home automation. It's been lingering for the past 20 years, and Apple will make it happen.

The artwork paints a clear picture. The app icons mixed with the circular icons indicate a merging of iOS and Android. Lollipop? Apple? What happens when you mix the two. You get a candy apple. Notice the red circle on the top right of the artwork? That's right, a candy apple.

The epicenter is a play on "epic" and "enter". We're entering an epic age of mobile computing: AndroiOS 1.0. The most advanced AND open mobile operating system in the world.

You read it here first folks.

No. There are both types, for iphone and Apple watch
I'm not sure, I can see the home screen being similar to that of the Apple watches. Ever since iOS 7 came out it has included circular buttons and icons on all but the home screen.

I agree and I think you guys are on to something...

I personally don't think iOS9 is coming anytime soon. If it was, I don't think Apple would have made such a drastic change to the music app in 8.4

They are introducing... tam tam tam tam tam tam.... 3D blended Windows Tiles! Also with Rounded Corners(tm) ("... and BOY did we patent them!").

You read it here first!

Revamped Apple TV and HomeKit

I remember reading a while back, that the Apple TV would be the HomeKit hub. Making it the "epicenter" of everything.

Of course, new OS X, new iOS, as well as some upgrades to the Mac line. But, to me, it appears a push for HomeKit and the new Apple TV.
