People are so sensitive to everything these days. no tolerance to the simplest. it's sick.
Did they? I couldn’t convince myself it wasn’t CGI.It did make me cringe but because I thought it was wasteful. All those useful things now going to landfill. Some people can't even afford some of those things (like the piano) and Apple just went and crushed it.
I encounter that all the time at work. When something cocks up, even if it is not directly attributed to me, there's always a learning point and something I could have done better or differently in hindsight and that's a learning point for me.Sigh… People are watching it wrong 😑
I'm a bit shocked that Apple apologises for this. I feel very sorry for the team who worked hard on this ad.
You aren’t wrong! LG made this exact ad in 2008, just without the dystopian lighting and creepy destroyed objects trying to stave off impending doomThe whole idea is outdated and poorly executed. We’ve known about device convergence for decades. We’ve known about Garage Band and Arcade and all the other things Apple hints at in the ad. It’s the kind of commercial that little companies make, not Apple. Instead they should be talking to their core consumers with some level of respect and maturity when announcing a product aimed at a specific segment.

This ad actually sucks. it does not celebrate human creativity but rather how tech wants to destroy it
majority on macrumors:
this was a great ad! why are people offended about crushing instruments?
An ad should never make a large number of people feel "ehhhhhh", which it did with me. Hugh Grant was ridiculous tho (he has a twitter account? Who cares?)Jesus, really? it's a good ad. we ACTUALLY going to be complaining about this?
PSYCHOTIC? REALLY? lol ridiculous.
To be honest, I have seen more people offended by the perceived offence rather than people offended by the app. Seemingly both groups are two sides of the same coin, whereas most people probably don’t care either way about some tech company’s latest ad.Why apologize? What's happening to our world? It seems like nowadays, someone can get offended by just about anything, even a simple commercial.

Aren't we a bit sensitive?People are so sensitive to everything these days. no tolerance to the simplest. it's sick.
replies on x suggest majority thought the outrage is unnecessary too
apparently all those against the ad totally forgot about the ad where they were destroying kids items against the iPhone to show how tough it is. where were you?
or how about when people were randomly slamming stickers on every person they could find. how come you didn't call out "but that's harassment"?
oh but it when apple seemingly crushes random tools, it's outrage time? lol
lol not going there. Look else whereAren't we a bit sensitive?
The uproar over pulling a poorly considered ad is quite dramatic. Why not take a moment to relax? It's hardly the end of the world.lol not going there. Look else where
Can people stop crying about literally everything?
I would have sent them a F.U. + Laughing Emoji letter to all of those that got offended LOL
People being offended by this are idiots and they should be ignored.
You're getting warmer. Don't worry - once you realize that the argument works both ways, you'll get it.Your point was that there are many forms of creativity, including ones relying on technology? Then, you’re welcome.
So silly. Of all the things to complain about. Seriously? Talk about mock outrage. 🙄 I’m a “creative” and I didn’t find the ad offensive at all. It was just showing in a fun exaggerated visual way how all these artistic tools could be found in an iPad. What’s the big deal? Wait until Apple jumps on the A.I. bndwagon. 😂
