There are 20 TV characters to play in total in solo battles or races with friends. Races take place in iconic locations from the television shows, with 16 maps drawn from fan-favorite episodes.

In addition to playing multiplayer with friends, Apple Arcade users can also go through the extensive single player campaign to unlock new characters and levels.

Warped Kart Racers is the only new game on Apple Arcade this week, but there are new updates for existing games that include Disney Melee Mania, Temple Run: Puzzle Adventure, Simon's Cat, Zen Pinball Party, and more.

‌Apple Arcade‌ is priced at $4.99 per month, and it includes more than 200 new and original gaming titles. All of the games are free to play with no additional in-app purchases or payments required. It looks bad. Ugly, unpolished, uninspired, and, thus far, unfun. Much like other mario kart imitations we've had in the past few decades. It surprises me how big companies like Apple and Google seem to express interest in wooing console gamers but then put no effort into it.

Ugh. For me, kart racers are the least creative and dullest category of games. And Apple wants $60/year for Apple Arcade? That's money better spent on Steam, Playstation Network, or Xbox network!
What, you don't like getting stopped dead in your tracks every 10 seconds from some other player's random
unavoidable powerup?

It’s a pretty fun game the art style is nice and the gameplay feels good I just dont know anything about the characters
You don’t have to. What I actually like about the game is that they don’t try to one up the tried and true MarioKart play style. From the power slides to the steering to the use of the slide button to jump off ramps, it’s all there.

Actually, that would be the match-three games :) ALL of them.

Apple’s not wooing console gamers, even though some of the Apple Arcade games ARE on consoles. They’re wooing the “don’t want to deal with IAP” people. That’s not a whole lot of people compared to the over 6 billion people in the world, but there’s enough people willing to spend a few bucks every month as a known amount than to see big IAP charges show up to make it worth Apple’s while.

This will be SO FUN for a week.
Have you tried it? If so, I'm wondering if this is one of those games that'll have no problem wooing you, but doesn't quite have enough staying power. Especially if it gets grindy :( FWIW, I've tried a few of these types of games on AA, but with AA's format, just quit the game and try out something else. :)

Too bad it's on Apple Arcade. I'd totally buy this if it was a one time fee.
That's kind of the crux of the issue... there's a reason why 86% of the games on the mobile markets dominate with excessive and the worse kinds of IAP and ads. The type of $$ they'd like to charge would probably be on par with actual PC and console games (of which, why some people avoid AA)

One update that I was looking forward to came out last week... for Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls! You can now finish the game! I really enjoy the gameplay. However, even though it's an AA title, be forewarned that it is quite grindy

I don't see myself playing this game for long. The sonic racer is way better than this one.
To me, Sonic Racing isn’t in the same league as this game. We’ve got an actual single-player campaign here, and the excellent drift model carried over from Detonation Racing (which is also a must-play AA racing game).

Especially if you know the characters, this is worth playing just for the impressive variety of soundbites for each of the 20 characters. The voices are really well done.

I never really played Mario Kart, but this is very playable w/ touch controls or a controller, and offers a real challenge as you progress through the leagues.
