where can you see the size of a game before you download? it used to be visible but I dont see it.
What happens if you cancel the trial early so you don’t get charged next month? Will one lose the trail benefit from the moment one cancels?
Because I was unaware it would not launch on all platforms on the announced launch date? Had no idea we’d be waiting until an unspecified time to use it on tvOS, hence the surprise in my initial post.
Love Patterned, Lint. and Word Laces for some relaxing, gentle puzzlers. Grindstone is also worthwhile, especially if one has enjoyed Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes on XBOX 36/One. Will be keeping Apple Arcade subscription going here (Along with Apple Music Family Subscription, 2TB iCloud storage etc)
Apple should give Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV buyers one free year of the Arcade service. Like the TV service, I'm not excited enough by this offering of what has so far looked like basic mobile games to start paying a separate monthly fee for it. Especially if these are the same games the Mac will be receiving.

Not necessarily. Think about why they're giving away TV+:LOL... giving away Arcade subs WOULD materially impact Apple's earnings.
It’s not fair ☹
Don't you mean "no true scotsman"?No true gamer will ever take this seriously. Glorified iOS titles & company that has never gotten gaming. Fail
So you have to download each game separately within the app store? I thought this would be some closed ecosystem where you launch the arcade app, and then all free games are available for playing/downloading within that app.
Or if you have a wireless controller like the ones for the PS4 or Xbox One you can just pair them with the Apple device. There are also other bluetooth game pads that work as well.Excited to try this out with the family.
Your iPhone acts as the controller for many of these titles I presume? That will be very nifty!

We had achievements before - I didn’t even know they got rid of them.Have a feeling it will be evolved into streaming (+ download like Apple Music) in the future. When that comes it will be its own app. Think Apple just testing the water here.
Hopefully when that time comes we will also get Achievements in Game Centre.

Do they have any match 3 games like candy crush? I'm currently downloading iOS 13 but its taking forever on my X 😭
Not that I’ve found so far. The Arcade tab in the App Store is in sore need of being able to search or browse by gamma category; trying to find all of the puzzle games so far I’m having to rely on forum posts, web listings and browsing through the game listings one by one.
You can search by category. When in the Arcade tab scroll all the way down to the bottom and you will see a bunch of categories.
Categories are as follows
Hope this helps you out!
- Family
- Multiplayer
- Action
- For Beginners
- Puzzle
- Adventure
- Role - Playing
- Platformer
You can still by them separately on pc/console for $10/20 eachSo the best games will be on Apple Arcade - shame as I don't want to pay another monthly subscription. I would rather pay for the game up front without ongoing costs.
What if I download a game and later decide to stop the monthly subscription - I lose all access to that game??
Very smart by Apple. It will get people hooked on games, not wanting to lose progress etc, and make them feel like they have to pay the monthly subscription all the time!

And if you stop paying for apple arcade you loose access to the games, but I doubt you loose your save file. If you subscribe after 6 month you should be able to continue where you left off.
I'm glad they went the netflix routem not ps plus route where you have to be constantly subscribed to get the games (they drip feed 2/3 per month and if you are not subscribed during that month you don't get the games)
