Microsoft built the world's largest software company largely on the back of copying Apple. Of course they're not doing well now, but where would Apple have been now had that not occurred?

Really? Just throwing Microsoft into the mix to prove whatever point you are talking about?  MiOF (Mind is Officially Blown).

Apple didn't have to spend a dime if they just accepted the "flattery" of Samsung copying their products and had the confidence to realize that Apple products are still more highly coveted then any other of a single company's product. If they had invested those years into innovating iPhone and iOS instead of letting the market tire of their "old" OS, they would never have seen any slow down in iPhone sales.
Ummm, they invested $100m to receive a JUDGEMENT of about $800m and is going to get some of the $100m back, to boot. 800m/60m = 1333% return. Their $150B in cash averages 2.5%.

Losers have this exact mindset of being jealous on others success :p

No one is stopping you from being a rich bast... (I mean lawyer) :D

I wouldn't say I'm jealous, just noticing that they can indeed be really rich! I could never be a lawyer but I can see why so many people want to be one.

I used to spend a lot of time socializing with some top New York City lawyers.

Interestingly, every one of them hated their job (even though it paid extremely well).

The reason was that they had chosen that profession thinking that they'd spend their time helping people and changing the world for the better, but instead spent all their time doing research and filling out billing sheets.

Come to think of it though, that kind of thing happens with many professions.

A Pyrrhic victory.

Being a lawyer does sound boring. It's not quite like Phoenix Wright.

Microsoft is doing well. One of the largest corporations.

Microsoft was already more successful than apple with DOS because they didn't copy apple into the hardware game and licensed their software to be used with computers made by anyone. Microsoft are successful because they created a business model that didn't copy apple.

Also apple and Microsoft copied the GUI from Xerox. Apple just put it on the market first.

Apple: stop worrying about getting money from Samsung and instead focus on getting Samsung displays in all of your mobile devices. Sharp and LG screens suck. You NEED Samsung.

LOL. Is this post intended to be grossly misinformed?

they should all be utterly ashamed of themselves

Who commissions lawyers? You can blame them all you like, but who do you think is hiring them? I would suggest your sentiments are simply misplaced. It sounds like you don't like what they were hired to do.

This is hilarious and false at the same time.

Sad how much money is wasted in crap like this that could go to better causes. You would think people would get that.

*sigh*. :(

IMO Google and Samsung should pay Apple a fee rather than digging thei heels in and going to the supreme court over BS.

Such a waste and it doesn't deter them because all it does is ban some old phone models. The S4 will continue to make more than 1 billion off Apple's patents with no penalty.
