I wonder if they would come out with two design versions, the same version based off the iPad mini 4 & 5 but with updated internals to satisfy the pilots and other bulk users and also a new Air mini design version, based off the iPad Air design. I could see them do this and bump the new design price up the $100 and then keep the current design version the same price or drop it by $50. Just a thought. I love my iPad mini 5. Would be torn though if a new design version comes out to upgrade.

not getting any survey

1. usb c the most important to me .
2. official keyboard attachment .

I know you have to start somewhere, but usb c would make it LESS likely to upgrade. We have 5 lightning devices in the house, to be able to mix and match any plug makes it really convenient.

If the new model is just a month or two from release now, it seems ... a bit late to be polling users for their preferences, idk 🤷🏼‍♂️
This poll is for future devices. This years specs/designs surely are locked and loaded.

I doubt we get a new iPad mini this year. This survey seems to also indicate that as it will take Apple at least until next year in the Fall to produce a mini based on this survey. But the internet guessers will continue to spread their garbage predictions while hoping they get one guess right.

Just right. It's the minimum viable display size for an iPad. That's how they settled on 7.9" 4:3 to begin with.

Ideally Apple would just shrink the rest of the device around it.

I received the survey too. iPad Air - 2018. Looks like they sent out the survey to users using iPads from 2018 or prior.

The size is perfect. It just needs apple pencil 2, usb-c and stereo speakers in landscape orientation.

…but yeah the ipads camera app is typically useless, bc it puts the controls awkwardly under where your hand is holding the device and makes you twist your thumb backwards to try to tap one little round dot which most of the time doesnt recognize the tap.

It reinforces my belief that no one at apple actually uses an ipad, bc its implementation of iOS is full of irritating & broken functionality problems that have been there since day 1 that never get fixed.

This survey can’t be for the upcoming iPad mini. It’s not like they can change the size on the fly. The next gen is already set in stone if it’s due this fall.
Maybe they're working out whether or not to keep the 5th gen Mini around at a lower price point if there is still demand for the screen size? Could make sense if there is a price hike for the new Mini.

Who wouldn't want a larger screen? I mean, within the same dimensions of the current iPad Mini, that is.

I guess the decision Apple is making is to either keep the screen size and shrink everything else, or keep the overall size and enlarge the screen.

I'm more in favor of the latter, but I'm a size queen (I'd kill for a 17" 16X10 iPP).

We should get bigger screen in same size. In the future iPad may also ship without power adapter

As the owner of a first Retina display iPad Mini (Gen 2?), I'm hoping the next one is worth buying. I agree with @H3LL5P4WN and others that Apple should keep the outer dimensions so it still fits in a cargo pants pocket, but fill the area as much as possible with the display. A better camera and ability to run the Watch app is also on my wish list.

If they’re asking the question about screen size for advertising/Keynote purposes, the logical conclusion is that they’re looking for confirmation that the current screen size is fine, and that there’s no need to increase the size. if they were going to change the size of the display, they wouldn’t ask for confirmation this late in the process. On the other hand, the marketing team could be confirming that a slight increase is exactly what users would like to have and that it was the right decision.

17”-21” iPad please 😁
I would love a 17" iPad attached to something like this:

It would basically be an iMac G4 base and arm that houses a dock for all kinds of I/O, maybe an external drive, and pass-thru power.

The iPad would be held magnetically and use the pins for power and data, like the Magic Keyboard.

I like the iPad Mini, but if I could have my idea of the "perfect" display it would be a 16:10 aspect ratio, OLED technology, 8.4" diagonal measure, 360 ppi density.

I enjoy watching movies in dimly lit rooms. I need to be able to comfortably hold it in one hand while in portrait orientation.
