3 Months Later

just got my first phone interview yesterday, the recruiter said that the hiring manager should call me today. It did take about 3 months for them to call me, hopefully the follow up is quicker. The recruiter did offer me 16.95 and said i would be working at least 20 hours, my only concern would be going under the 20 hours. Still with my current job i work about 25-30 hours and make about the same amount what i could in the 20. Also the 50 for my internet and phone bill how is that sent back to me? NOPE got rejection email 🙁

Hi everyone!

I'm new here, just joined today 🙂 I applied for a couple openings in my area for the At Home Advisor position a couple of weeks ago and completed the questionnaire at the time of submitting my résumé and cover letter.

I've been working exclusively at home for the past 3 years & have another 3 years of providing in-house tech support on a Linux platform. I use Apple products extensively, not familiar with troubleshooting them, but always willing to learn!

I'm super excited about this opportunity and fingers crossed something will work out 🙂

Hi everybody! I've been lurking for a while but finally joined to start posting.

I first applied to the only AHA position in my area back in August, and never heard so much as a peep. Since it auto-applied me to every renewed posting on every Monday just about, I eventually registered with my other email and submitted my resume and CV this time. That was this past Friday, December 27th.

I'm just a little bit concerned because of this: Where I currently work has a bad reputation for falsifying information when called for references. A friend of mine that used to work with me quit this job after her two year mark, and applied to the AHA position. After about 4-5 months, she got the position at a pretty nice hourly rate.... but according to what she was told, my current employer denied she had worked there a total of six different times (even though this friend had a copy of her W-2). FINALLY Apple was able to verify her employment and she's in and happy as a clam.

I have been told simply not to put this job as an employment reference or in my history, but seeing as I'm almost 2 years into it and it's a tech support callcenter, I feel that it's relevant and despite what I've been told, that I should include it. Any help or insight on this?

So I finally got the job. Timeline in case anyone is interested:

• Applied November 11th, job was posted November 7th
• Recieved call from recruiter to setup interview on December 12th
• interview December 18th
• Background check requested December 20th
• Verbal offer January 1st

I researched a lot of those posts in the previous thread and had a lot of answers ready for their predictable questions. I was thrown off by the fact that I only had to do one interview since 99% of people I talked to or read about in the forums had 2-3 interviews. This was really troubling to me because I don't feel like I had a great interview (I had a really awkward silent pause for a minute when I didn't know how to answer a question) so I thought they were lying when they said this would be the only interview.

This is for the College AHA so maybe that's why. I'm happy about the $14/hr rate. I've never worked during school before so I'm going to have to manage my time especially well if I want to keep my GPA up. Honestly, I'd rather be doing/learning something related to my field (Computer Science) and doing some freelance jobs for people, but I'm in desperate need of a steady income. I've been taking out loans and dipping into my savings to try to pay for college since my parents are both unemployed and now I have 3.5K left in my bank account and I'll probably have to drop out of college since I can't pay for much longer. Hopefully this job will relieve some of financial pressure but 2014 doesn't look like it'll be very fun... 🙁

If the job is relevant to customer service/tech support, then they'll contact you. I highly doubt they take a specific employer's history into account before deciding to contact someone. It took me a month after submitting my app before they contacted me to set up an interview so just wait it out. Also, check when the postion was posted since they might already have filled up their next class of recruits already.

Well, they just reposted it AGAIN today (which is odd, they usually only repost them on Mondays), so I'm getting worried... I know it took them 5 months for my friend's process, and I'm coming up on that mark for my first submission (with my original email).

And congrats on you getting a spot, that's terrific! 😀 Balancing school and work like this will be tough but if you can stay focused on a good work ethic, you'll be fine. 😉

I really hope not, the company I worked for from 2007 till 2011 filed for bankruptcy protection early last year, got bought over by another company, and they just got rid of the 2 locations that I worked in, so now there's nobody to verify my employment there lol.

They usually will just call and leave a voicemail. In my case, I missed the call (I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer it >.< ) and they sent an email. Honestly, just try to forget that you even applied. They take so long to contact people, it's not worth stressing out about. That sucks about your previous company going under, I suspect if you do get into the whole process and get a background check requested, you'll have to provide some sort of additional documentation to verify employment since they can't contact anyone there. Maybe like W2's or something. Weird thing is, one of my previous employers who I listed for verification purposes was apparently never even contacted during my background check. So I'm not sure what exactly they do to verify employment.

for those who have had the 3rd interview.... I personally am freaking out what should i be prepared for.... Things you believe you did good..... things you regret. On my 2nd interview the lady I spoke to said she liked how thero*(sp*) my answers were and said my costumer service response was really good. So I think if I do what I did for the 2nd interview I should hopefully get this job. I really need this job as I am currently unemployed at the moment. Any advise to given would most appreciated. thank you

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement! Yeah, have pushed it out of my mind since pretty much everyone is taking their sweet time to respond. Another company I applied to back in November didn't contact me till over a month after I applied. I had actually missed the recruiter's email by a few days since I stopped checking the email address that I set up for my job hunt, so just trying to be a bit more cautious this time around lol. I don't pick up phone numbers I don't recognize either, let's see what happens.

One of the locations I worked in previously is in Mumbai, India...I'm guessing Apple will have fun doing my background check, should I even make it to that stage of the hiring process 😛

I am still awaiting a possible callback from Apple. I was hired for their OSX support team, but failed my final exam, due to family illness. I was told by Apple HR that employees have to wait at least 6 months before re-hire is considered. In the meantime, I am working for Arise, hopefully Apple will call me back soon if ever. :/ I have not heard from them yet.

Those of you who have/had to do 3 interviews, what position were you applying for? The standard AHA position or the college AHA position? I'm wondering because I only had to do 1 interview for the college AHA before getting the job.

I had my paperwork session today so that was fun. They're really stringent on how you use your work iMac to the point they start it up and shut it down at specified times. It's a shame because I really wanted to use it as an external display since my current one is a ****** dell made in 2006 (1600x1050 resolution sucks so much). Guess I'll have to buy my own iMac or Apple display with the sweet discounts. Still excited to work at Apple nonetheless, this has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid playing around with the translucent eMacs in computer lab during elementary school!

I just had my 3rd interview. It's very relaxed. They want to know more about your background, what your experience is, how YOU have handled situations in the past. There will be role playing where they want you to address them as if they are the customer. There isn't a lot of difference between the 2nd and the final interview. It's just longer.

They told me they would let me know soon if I was accepted or not. I really hope I am but it was hard to get a read on the gentleman who did the interview. He was nice, just hard to read.

I recently finished my third interview for class that starts 2/24/2014..ios 7 support.

Just received my equipment yesterday for the class that starts on Monday jan.13th iOS support, I originally was told after my third interview to wait for maps, but received a call from my recruiter in nov. For my BGC and to Finish the process. Which my recruiter was great if I emailed her asking the status she got right back to me then like I said in November she called and switched me.

I got a call back 24 hours after my 3rd interview with an offer. It was supposed to be for maps but they told me it would instead be for ios. So I don't know if they are doing away with maps or what but it originally was supposed to be maps. I wanted to do maps because from what I gathered you wouldn't really be dealing with customers in an inbound role, it would be more outbound and research based. But I would rather do ios than cpu so I got my next choice.

It starts 2/24 and I still need to do the BGC which hopefully comes back ok.

If you guys have been waiting all this time I would start emailing your recruiter(s). My knowledge is there is a class starting this month for ios and one in February for ios but that's it.

There was a internal hire for the Maps position in November. More than likely that is why no one new is going into it.

More than likely you where hired in for phones. The more tenured advisors at Apple usually get hired in for chat unless they are making a push for chat. Which during the holidays they pulled most of for chat and the volume wasn't what they thought it would be.
