Preparing for Shipment! I wonder if there is any chance it gets delivered early. I chose the free shipping.

When I ordered I chose overnight express shipping. I have UPS My Choice and I have not received a shipping notice yet.

What does UPS my choice do? I noticed that my Apple TV is now ready for shipment and I can no longer cancel.

Maybe, somewhere buried in the 29 current pages of comments this has been asked and replied to... However, I'm going to ask anyway. I live in Switzerland and have a last generation Apple TV. Looking at the Swiss Apple TV page, I don't see a single offering that's any different than what I can currently get on my AppleTV. Other than a new remote, what is my incentive to want the new Apple TV? I should add that I also don't play video games. I'm confused, is what it amounts to. Thanks..

Thanks for the tip on UPS my choice. I just signed up but don't see a shipment headed my way yet.

The obvious difference is support for a new app store for the Apple TV.

The App Store is available only on the 4th generation.

Apps. And when I say apps I don't just mean games. If you have a baby and have a compatible monitor you can pull up the baby cam on your tv for example. To a lot of parents that will be huge.

Sports apps look to be huge from the keynote which by the way you should watch and fast forward to the Apple TV section (it is right after iPad pro).

Alerts will be available on your tv.

Much better search and it will search iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and Showtime (more to come) automatically and without you having to open a single app.

Also drastically improved hardware minus optical out over previous Apple TV's.

I have UPS my choice, but I didn't get the tracking number yet, but apple says 'preparing for shipment'

But than, most of my Apple orders come with Fedex ... so there is still hope for Friday delivery (I ordered next day shipment)

Yeah someone pointed out its probably the nimbus controller.

The bad thing about order tracking is UPS doesn't tell you what it's for.

If it is the controller then it's coming fast as I didn't expedite it like I did the Apple TV.

Tim Cook is CEO, every penny will be saved to improve profit margins

Oh yes I forgot. Who cares about the end user experience :)

no reason too most of us probably have extra HDMI cables

Is that for Apple to decide? When was the last time an Apple product wasn't ready to be used out of the box? Most of us have several lightning cables as well. Does that mean Apple should stop including them with iPhones and iPads?

You do realize you're implying the only CEO I can recall who said he didn't care about the bloody ROI when referring to money spent on features for people with disabilities is somehow ONLY concerned with the bottom dollar.

Also Apple is one of the few companies out there leading the way when it comes to renewable energy tech which isn't matured yet and is costly just to help the environment. They'd be saving a ton of money using existing fossil fuels.

I digress everyone has their opinion but there's a ton of other companies and even specifically tech companies I'd classify as being more greedy or less consumer friendly but I'll leave it at that.

Same here. I paid for next day delivery and really hope that $ wasn't wasted.

Does it allow you to cancel the order? Mine changed so that I couldn't and when I click why is says "Since your items are ready for shipment we are unable to cancel or change your order." Hoping that means it will ship shortly.

Thanks gang.... I'm going to swing by the Apple store in Zurich tomorrow but we currently don't have access to Hulu, HBO or Showtime at all. My feeling is that on the US side, it's probably a pretty good upgrade. However, I don't think it'll be worth it here unless there's a built in VPN to get worldwide content (very doubtful). Currently, we watch Netflix and occasionally, the Red Bull station. The rest of the content (mostly baseball, basketball and various concert stations) is wasted on me as I'm a solo endurance sport fan. Thanks again though.
