If you are so fickle and easily bored as to want to move away from the most incredible mobile platform yet conceived, over mere icons... go and do it, but please - don't tell us - not because we care... but because we're indifferent, and the louder you protest about iOS being "stale" or "outdated", followed by a bold statement of how much "better" Android/WinMo/Symbian (seriously, my friend just did that!) etc, is than iOS, then we know you're just annoyed, and really upset that you're moving from iOS, but can't help but cause a scene to get attention (because everyone wants THEIR choice to be seen as the "best"), but hey - it's your choice, and... good for you! :).

My thought exactly. I guess that people who complain so much about the iOS UI and call it outdated don't use the iPhone/iPad to work, use it only to show to his friends.
If the iOS UI design changed as much as these people wanted, working with it would be very counter-productive and almost impossible. But I guess they wouldn't notice.
For me, iOS UI is just fine.

Just make the colours in the banner be that we're getting coloured iPhones like the iPods. Literally that is all I ask for - just give me coloured iPhones already!
Actually, I predict that is exactly what all the colors in the banner symbolizes. The app icons will be colored and have rounded corners. The native apps display will utilize black/gray/white (like the new iTunes mini player) with app developers encouraged, when feasible, to use that scheme.

Alright people. I think by the looks of it apple has decided to do transparent icons. Thats the first thing i noticed...

Here's a thought for you: that's just a banner. Here's another thought: noone knows, as the 10th June hasn't arrived yet.

:p

Well Here's a thought for you. Banners are a representative of the event coming up. So therefore it is possible.
Here's another thought for you. Jony Ive knows ;)

Here's yet another - they're showing coloured squares to attract the eye, because a banner needs to stand out. That does not mean that the icons WILL be coloured OR transparent/translucent; they're not going to let the cat out of the bag BEFORE the event.

By the logic of assuming that those are representative of the new icons, one could also assume that the icons will be blank - hardly likely! :p

Well it is appealing to my eyes lol but with that said apple has never (as much i can remember) had transparent icons in ANY of their other banners. Idk. Apple is very unpredictable but hey we're to have fun with whatever we have lol

hehe :D

I agree. Banter and predictions are fun, even if some of them are slightly more hopeful than others... (and some are just plain odd!)

Take care mate :)

As anyone can clearly see by looking at this year's WWDC banner below, Apple is going to move to a more flat, black/white with color accent, and transparent icon design. I can also tell that with the overlapping app icons, this means Apple will be improving the inter-app communication and API's. Finally, clearly by including the different sized app icons, this indicates that Apple will be releasing either an iPhone Mini or the fabled iWatch. Exciting stuff!

:p

wow...so many flying colors on banner. Must be pleasing sight for Mr. Cook.

Look at banner, 28monkeys!

Family love 28monkeys

Sorry, your phrasing caused me to uncontrollably start spouting Arrested Development quotes. :D

While there are some wildly off-base guesses being made based on the design, Apple has included hints like these in the past.

For instance, the banners for the iPhone 5 event that were stretched out icons, hinting at the taller screen.

I also think there's something to be read in to the "whole new world developing" tagline, but my guess is as good as the next. It would seem to indicate that they're opening up some kind of new platform for developers to play with, whether that's opening up APIs or adding an App Store to the :apple:TV is anyone's guess.

Based upon the WWDC 2011 banner, the iPhone screen should be flat but then curving sharply upwards at the back... D'OH!

So you can watch WWDC live streaming rather than go to work.

Na, that's just a plus. I just don't want to go to work period. haha :p

"A whole new world developing" = They're allowing users to download jailbreak tweaks now!
lol what? I actually feel my off the wall idea is more plausible than some of the ideas I have read here...sadly.

It's getting a bit excessive in here. Apple worship, doting on every little possibility.....

I'm the first to admit I'm a huge Apple enthusiast.
Fan boi, never.

But loyal and quick to put my money where my mouth is and buy lots of Apple products year after year.

I will be at WWDC, for work, as I am every year. It would be great to see something truly worthwhile, fresh and creative. Yet I'd be lying if I didn't share my tempered outlook. Samsung is coming at Apple hard.

I just saw the gorgeous new Galaxy S4 Active, due to be released this summer. They are paying attention, and making stellar progress in the smartphone sector.

Ready and waiting for a new iPhone, yet I'm wondering if it will be much of an improvement on the hardware front. iOS 7 is a no brainer, Apple will most likely get that right.

Time will tell....

Wow. A gay joke. You suck at life.

So. Monday after Apple's Keynote. It can go two ways. Me jumping up and down because iOS 7 looks amazing and has awesome features. Or I can be looking to buy an Android phone. Preferably a Nexus 4 c:

That phone isn't even LTE, but umm ok.

how bad their next xbox will look

you don't know how right you are:cool: i don't know if you know, but M$ recently announced that the Xbone will be have to verify its internet status every 24 hrs, or if you are logged into your account on a friend's xboxone, every 1 hr! if it can't find an internet connection, then no games will work! Its ridiculous, and I am certainly not going to get an xboxone for this reason!

so you are certainly correct saying that the xbox will be bad!
