Where a whole new world is developing; intriguing tagline. I suspect it means that the ATV will get its own App store; the new colour icons symbolise new apps for the ATV.
My thoughts exactly. I would have expected ATV apps a year ago already, but better late than never.

Unleash the fingerprint security checking iCloud Big Brother 2013!

And the ATV apps, controllable a software customizable controller. Controller API for iPhone - create your own controller app to control your ATV apps. Talk about leap frog.

So, I love the speculation about what's going to be announced. My own thoughts, worthless though they are, are that one of the following is likely (in order, I think, of likeliness!):

Apple TV gets an app store
New apple iTV launched, with app store
iWatch launched, with app store
iCamera launched (OK, don't think this one is at all likely yet)

I don't think the slogan words have much to do with iOS7 on iPad and iPhone. I think 'whole new world' is much more about a product which can now be developed for. On the other hand, the colours and styling are likely to be indicative of look and feel.

And I didn't know which way to put the two middle ones - I actually think the iWatch may be more likely than the TV, but they're completely different strategies, one requiring a few hundred pounds and selling tens of millions, the other a few thousand, with much lower volumes.

Still, we'll all know in a few days!

Tiptopp.

Very exciting! Also can't wait to see what other banners go up and the inevitable ones inside which will be ominously covered in white sheets which have individual products on them. Bring on Monday! Keep us posted with the decoration guys!

Steve's beloved 'rounded corners' are obviously still in.
And so is color.

Shine, gloss, bevels and torn off paper is out, I guess.

Looking forward — hoping for a seriously updated iOS7 (both concerning functionality and looks).

New games consoles come around every 8 years plus, we get new Macs every year, so which do you think will get all the limelight?

Oh, and for those that don't know, the new Xbox One has already been announced and the console shown, the new PS4 has also been announced but the actual PS4 console will first be shown on June 10th, MS and Sony have their E3 conferences on the 10th.

So yeah, Apple will make it into the news but don't be surprised if it's not in the limelight you thought it would be, then again if they launch a new Mac Pro that'll be the same timeline as the new consoles haha.

While I tend to agree with your arguments about it being the new generation of consoles (after 8 years), the fact that these are already pretty much announced already (at least in terms of functionality and specs) and although they are being more intergrated as multimedia devices, they are primarily game consoles (and hence, geared towards a gaming audience).

Apple's announcements on the other hand have become growingly popular. Mostly because they introduced some new products, which became quite ubiquitous (iPod, iPhone, iPad and Macs), so I believe most people know about Apple products or even have touched/interacted with one.

I doubt the same can be said about game consoles and most of these people who know about Apple products don't really care or get excited about a new game console. So I still feel Apple will get the limelight, even if it is to say how "disappointing" their announcements were!

Maybe its the same day as the PS4 announcement and Xbox announcement because Apple are releasing a games console?

Or upgrading the Apple TV to a games capable app box thingy - controlled with the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch.

Kind of fits with the 'whole new world' thing.

Or it will be such a boring event that Apple are trying to hide it under the SONY/Microsoft announcements

It should be obvious that "Whole new world developing" is a reference to a unified OS, but this has been claimed a bajillion times over the years, so we'll see.

----------

But when I'm way up here, it's crystal clear...

says the workers on the side of the building. I'm pumped. The 10th can't come soon enough. E3 + WWDC in the same week!?

Ahhhhhh!!!!

and **** worth excitement at E3 happening too?! I'm really excited as well, also **** the Xbox One.

----------

The Apps overlay, right? And their main banner image is of multiple apps coming together to the "new iOS"

It's an opening to the sandbox.

They're opening their APIs and letting Apps "overlay", giving developers a whole new world to bring their experiences together.

I doubt that, if anything it'll be an improved communication API between apps.

----------

They aren't even in the same league. Anything Apple announces will pretty much crush all the hype over the PS3 and Xbox One.

You're aware that it's the PS4 right? Yeah, that's why no one's taking your comment seriously...

----------

actually the conferences, main part of E3, are always before the actual event opens. Therefore the conferences take place on Monday, June 10 - same day as WWDC, and unfortunately at the same time as MS E3 Press Conference.

Microsoft killed their own hype though, so I'm glad it's at the same time as WWDC, PS4 teh win.

----------

An ant could crush the "excitement" of the Xbox One. I watched the first 10 mins (I'm not a gamer - couldn't be LESS interested) and I almost fell asleep... it was a laughable show.

Apple keynote VS Xbox event - incomparable, seriously!

None of my gamer friends liked the Xbox One, in fact there was a huge Anti-hype over it, people were (rightfully) PISSED.

----------

wow...so many flying colors on banner. Must be pleasing sight for Mr. Cook.

Wow... You know that gay jokes died in 2003, right?

Ok, the icons are obvious. If I let my self go with the Apple Icon of the dev app and this event art I see a home screen full of squared skittles. Windows 8 Phone meets Android kind of thing but nicer.

OMG I wouldn't be able to sleep now!

Apple becoming a more transparent company..?

Edit: Where a whole new world is developing; intriguing tagline. I suspect it means that the ATV will get its own App store; the new colour icons symbolise new apps for the ATV.

I only got to page two of silly guesses and had to go back and quote this.

Its going to be an app store for the ATV. 100%

Haven't they already shown that thing?
Unless am having a deja vo, I would have sworn I read something about Sony anouncing new playstation few months back.

Anyway, nothing would take my attention away from WWDC next week.

----------

Exactly what I thought when I first saw the WWDC 2013 invitation logo!

He means that Sony didn't show the actual console, they announced it, showed the PS4 controller, but the actual console is a mystery still, until E3.

Apple will introduce a new Pro Apps:

1) iPhoto Pro (exactly the same Pixelmator GUI people will be like WTF!!!!!??? And a bunch of new features PLUS automatic integration of Photoshop plugins and then Adobe will be like F@CK3RSSSSS!!!!!)

2) Pages Pro (full word processing with macros and all)

3) iCode (a ripoff of Coda again people will be scratching their face skin screaming NOOO!)

4) Numbers Pro (the normal boring way of doing it. The way that works)

5) Keynote Power (the same but with full Powerpoint compatibility)

And One more thing!
The iFinger (Jony Ive comes to stage and lift the finger to everyone!)

----

Why I post this? Whoa! I went blank and all of a sudden this was posted in front of my eyes! Sorry guys

Actually you just did. Becides, it's PS4 and so what? Do people still buy these things?

... Commenting to you doesn't mean I actually took your comment seriously...

Also, yes, the Ps3 wii and 360 combined sold over 200 million devices, While Apple has only sold 85 million iPhones sine it's inception...

I think this schedule conflict is why Microsoft pushed their xbox reveal forward ahead of E3. They're probably acutely aware that half their target demographic want to know what their iPhone's (software) is gonna look like in 3 months time and not how bad their next xbox will look in 6.

Also, to clarify I own a 360 and an iphone 5 and (this is just personal opinion) I didn't even care enough to watch the xbox event live.

No, you weren't replying to me but to virginblue4.

Ok, fair enough. I remember this work colleague of mine who few years ago bought this game console mainly to play bule ray DVD's on it (honestly don't know which one) And if we are talking about iOS, you don't have to bring up only iPhones that are sold but all iOS devices.

It could be just me that have never been interested on a game consoles.

Just make the colours in the banner be that we're getting coloured iPhones like the iPods. Literally that is all I ask for - just give me coloured iPhones already!

I for one am really looking forward to the PS4 unveiling but really, nothing will get more attention on June 10 than Apple's WWDC. The whole tech world is practically DESPERATE for Apple to announce something...anything...that is new and exciting and also wants to see in what direction Ive will take iOS 7. The new generation of game consoles, interesting as they may be, won't take away the limelight from Apple's WWDC. I am actually more excited about upcoming games for the PS3 such as The Last of US, Dark Souls II and Metal Gear Ground Zeroes than I am for the PS4 right now.
