I don't think the dock connector has digital video output- which means a direct HDMI attachment would require an active converter. So you could "build" one for the cost of the Apple VGA output cable + $120 for the VGA - HDMI converter
That said, since it only supports 1024 x 768 anyway, a "VGA" signal is probably good enough for most people (most HDTVs still have a VGA port).
Yeah, but in the day of HD movies, it would be nice if it supported some type of digital output. It's possible that the hardware just can't support it yet. And I would not be opposed to the mini display port - as long as I could get an hdmi converter.
So this ipad really is just a big ipod. Maybe I'll wait for R2, we are surely to get some more features. Hopefully this is at the top of the list.
I could care less about Adobe Flash. I disable it on my Macs anyway with FlashBlock.
A camera would be nice.

For what it is, I still like it. I am sure that this is only the beginning. I may still pick up the $499 version and then get the top of the line 2nd revision when they come out.
