Historically speaking, people in the U.S. are superstitious about the number 13 being unlucky. Many (most?) buildings in the united states do not have a floor numbered 13. The elevator numbers also reflect that by omitting the button for 13. I personally can’t recall ever being in an elevator with a button for floor 13, but I’ve no doubt they exist. And if you want a little trivia to feed the superstition: the condo building that just collapsed in Miami was 13 stories tall.

Okay say the next iPhone will be the 12s. The 6.7 inch Phone would be the 12s Pro Max… If this year’s iPhone is an s iteration I suspect we will see a name change.

iPhone 12 Pro is hard to beat to me to upgrade.
Well, I have iPhone X and 12 Pro, one for work and personal and these are basically the same phone. Slightly better display, slightly better camera, slightly faster...but overall, it is the same thing. From the rumors we have to date, it seems that iPhone 13 would be more of the same. It is really worth upgrading if you have iPhone 8 for the larger display, but even the iPhone 8 is still rock solid smartphone. Apple can move to two years release cycle for the iPhone and I dont think anyone would really care (except the media and the competition).

I'm a sucker when it comes to iPhones so yes I do have the 12PM and do plan in getting the 12sPM. But that midnight green 11 Pro Max is still the best phone in my opinion. Let's just say I could not get rid of that phone lol!

Lets not forget that we had an iOS 13 and they did not skip that but who knows.
That's the color of my 11pm! 12 is literally the first iphone upgrade ever that I skipped.

Oh please, that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. It's a Phone. They didn't skip over iOS 13, and they certainly won't skip over iPhone 13.
I've stayed in enough hotels are missing a 13th floor to know that there is a certain percentage of the population that does care and associated economic consequences. But yeah, if Apple doesn't brand it the '13' they won't say they didn't due to the western world's superstitions.

Everything I have read said that building was 12 stories.

Does anyone even care about the 2021 iPhone?

Give me high refresh rate and get rid of that ugly terrible notch, and then maybe, just maybe I would pay attention to it.

Yeah sadly based on the leaks on this very website the coming iPhone 13 sound boring as hell.. The 14 and 15 however might be cooler with redesign (it used to be every 2 years), no more notch, under display touch ID, improved cooling, periscopic camera, apple designed 5G modem.
But the thing is that smartphones have peaked, there was huge improvement over years in the past as this was a new market, now that the products are mature there is not much to do.. I even wonder what new "features" they will find in the coming years

Let me get this straight. They are going to produce them before they launch them?
Who knew Apple were such innovators?

They jumped straight to 12 because they redesigned the chassis. Had the 11 introduced the flat edged chassis design the 2020 phone would have been the 11S.

Maybe. I just think they realized 11S and 11S Pro would have been too much of a mouth full and too confusing for layman buyers. Deciding to just jump to 12 and 12 Pro instead.

Edit: I'd also add upon further reflection. Given the jump to iPhone 12 plus macOS 11 with the next being macOS 12. Apple has shaken up their numbering convention a little. So, the prior tick tock numbering scheme can't be relied upon.
