First I've heard of it. It certainly doesn't mean there's no problem, but because mine's behaving nicely, and because I know other people who aren't having any problems, I'd be inclined to believe that maybe there's something you can identify and adjust to resolve the issue. It shouldn't matter what speakers you have attached. The AirPort Express is only responsible for sending out the audio.

Edit: Unless you're referring to third-party speakers with built in AirPlay functionality. I shouldn't have overlooked that. It opens up a whole range of potential changes which Apple may have brought about, or bugs which may be associated with manufacturer products.

Yes, in my original post I did say 'third-party speakers'. It's a bit annoying having a $700 Zeppelin Air that crashes all the time from one particular device. ;-)

Bowers & Wilkins and Libratone have both officially(?) confirmed the bug and Apple is working on a fix, hence why I said I hope it's included in iOS5.1.

The 4S does work fine through Apple TV and then the TV (the sound of which is also routed to the Zeppelin), but that means having the TV on too and that's stupid. My workaround is playing music from my laptop, but it's a workaround, not a proper bug fix. I want to play stuff from my phone.

Edit: there's also some fairly enormous threads about this in the Apple support forums. Here's just one: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3413370?start=0&tstart=0

if 5.0.2 does not fix the memory leak and battery issues when it comes out if ever than hopefully 5.1 will fix it for good :)

Quick someone tell me in the first 5 minutes of using it did it fix the battery issue?! ;)

It is interesting that there was mention of 5.0.2...yet they are already seeding 5.1...with how bad my battery life is I will update just for the fact it can't get much worse.

I wonder if when they release 5.1 GM if they will take the label "beta" off of Siri.

Yeah, that makes sense. This is also why I avoid products like this. I'd rather set up an AirPort Express and use speakers of my choice than purchase a third-party product and depend on their programming for continued functionality. Unfortunately this isn't so much to do with the quality of these products—I've been burned a few times by Apple making changes over the years with their products and introducing incompatibilities (generally speaking the manufacturers don't care, possibly due to logistics involved in applying some kind of firmware update or fix), so that's the real reason why.

I hope this fixes all of the bluetooth connection issues many people are having in the Apple Discussion forums, including me.

How do you figure that? Apple hoped 5.0.1 fixed the battery issues. I expect they hope 5.0.2 will really fix them. Being a n.n release doesn't magically make it more likely to fix bugs. In fact n.n releases usually bring features and new features means new bugs.

So what are the new features?

Yeah there is that risk I guess, but B&W do firmware updates relatively often and Airplay is a licensed stack/standard/product which B&W pays for, so hopefully it will be fine for a while. This is a one-device specific bug fix, not a matter of obsolescence. Down the track, if it does become obsolete, then using an Airtunes or airport is a possibility.

DOes Siri support Spanish now? :D HEHE I seriously doubt it, but that would be awesome!

If anyone downloads this for their AT&T 4S, can you tell me if it diferentiates between the normals HSPA network, and HSPA+, I couldn't care less if it says 4G/H+ or whatever, I just want to know what speeds I should be getting relative to what I am getting.

The battery drain on the 4S is caused by a bad video driver which causes the GPU to run when idle and not needed. I hope this addressed it.
