This iPad looks so dated with those bezzels
Who cares? I don't know how you hold your iPad, but I very much like having a place to grab onto that's not a touch-sensitive screen. And it's not like you're putting the thing in your pocket.

If not trade ins... what are they? I personally find a 15% discount for a second hand iPad, with warranty, a meager offer.

That poster dude forgets the existence of Apple's iUP program which effectively "trades-in" product after a 24-month installment loan.

Effectively, 12/24[MSRP]=50%[MSRP] although in reality it is a hidden lease with a subsidy to the loan-origination bank.

This is one source of recycled product.

People are trading in 2018 iPads and pretending it's an iPhone?

Don't you think Apple would notice?

Truetone displays, bigger speakers, considerably faster CPU, considerably faster GPU, neural engine, Tru Motion screen, now USB-C with high quality video out, better cameras, more RAM.

Just because your needs are met by the iPad (which is great! What a value considering what you used to get for $499!) doesn't mean everyone else's are.
Your definition of "exact" may need a little work...

All that and yet has an iOS doesn't make use of any of that. Please tell me...

What app runs on iPad Pro that doesn't run just as well my $329 iPad?

That's what I thought.

You can have all the fast CPU, GPU, and RAM in the world, but if your OS can't make use of it, then what is the point?

They're selling REALLY well, considering mine has been on backorder for almost a month now...
I think they quietly give you a redesigned one with a backbone for not bending. They did the same with the newly introduced magic keyboard II. The first ones bent like a banana so they quietly introduced a new one without bending problems. The magic keyboard II was on backorder for months.

I got my 128GB for $329 brand new.

Does everything an iPad Pro does for less. I can even add a pencil and keyboard and still spend less than an iPad Pro.

Apple still hasn't give me reason to spend 2x for a device that does the exact same thing. TruTone displays and bigger speakers isn't going to cut it.
Better screen (the one on the 9.7 inch model is inferior and not as close to the glass), 120hz, faster internals, FaceID, thinner bezels and entirely new design.

Tablets in general are fairly useless, but still the Pro is a lot better than the 9.7 inch, even though the 9.7 inch is still a good tablet.

Those with this model: How's the air gap in the display?

I want to know if my Craigslist purchase of a pristine Air 2 was worth it. I do enjoy this screen!

Apple gear is becoming increasingly more overpriced, no doubt.

However, you’re saying it has similar performance, battery life, OS support, and Apple integration? Seems unlikely.

I have an Android tablet and the primary reason I don’t use it is because of lack of integration with my iPhone and Mac. I don’t want to manage a completely separate system. I can’t send texts from my phone number like from an iPad. I need to sync my offline videos separately. It’s so many big and little things I grew tired of it. OS support? Forget about it.

My wife has a 9.7 inch 2018 iPad.

I have an iPad Air 2 and wanted Pencil support, so I tried hers out for a bit. The 2018 iPad didn't feel like an upgrade to the Air 2, so I went with a Pro model instead.

I always buy Apple refurb when possible. They look new, smell new.. only difference I've ever been able to tell was that they are in different packaging.

If I wind up picking up another Mini it'll be a refurb.

Why is this a good deal? You could get a brand new one cheaper from Target during the TG weekend.

You really have to be careful with Target on items like that. I saw them advertised at that price and went to get one, but what they actually had in stock was the previous generation iPad with A9. They also pulled a similar stunt with the Series 2 watch when the Series 3 had just been released. I would assume the majority of consumers would never know the difference.
I can see that. To be honest I had to lookup what they had for sale to verify. While I follow what goes on around here well I cannot keep up with all the releases on iPad. I have only bought a few and until recently it had been 3 years. They are 6th generation 9.7's which again, I had to look up to verify specs. iPhone is easier to follow since I saw that more often.

Wow only Apple can get a way with selling refurb at only 15% off the price. You are always buying someone elses problem with refurb electronics.
