Oh, Apple, PLEASE make a premium small sized phone. iPhone SE OLED would be an instant sell. I’ve grown to accept my X but I still want the smaller footprint.
Baloney Tim was probably hoping to dump these on unsuspecting Indians or some other hapless 'emerging market', but they're smarter than he gives them credit for.I can't remember another time that Apple discontinued a device, then months later, start to sell it again as clearance.
Thanks, I could have sworn I remembered this.
I wonder if this has anything to do with Apple's recent stock market woes and sales forecast issues, or if it is just a coincidence in timing.I do agree though it's not a move I've ever seen Apple make in it's entire history.
This was such an awesome little phone and at that price is almost disposable for employees in high risk jobs/traveling.
Imagine a 5.2" screen XR with a slighter smaller form factor then the iPhone 6/7/8. That would sell very well.I think if they made an SE replacement that could provide the same 4.7” display as the old standard iPhone, I would buy it for sure. The text on the SE’s screen is too small for my eyes, but the 4.7” iPhone gets by just fine.

Good deal. This is going to undercut a lot of the listings on Swappa.
Anyone else think this move is strange?
What are you smoking, this phone will be supported just as long as the 6S will, which means it still has about 2-3 years of support left in it.Apple thinks they are listening to the public by selling lower-cost phones but just to clarify Tim, we didn't mean old phones you don't support anymore..

It's cited in the first line.
At those prices, anyone in the market for an iPod Touch would be very foolish not to get this instead.
Desperate times... No, actually, it's still a great little phone. Now they need to take the XR design, shrink it down to around the SE size, and watch how many people buy it. I'm not a small phone person but I think there's a big enough market to justify an SE2. I actually think if they stuffed the A11 processor, upgraded camera, added an upgraded display to wide gamut, they could sell this thing fro $400-$450 all day.
Shoot at that price, I'm nearly tempted to pick up a 128GB.
We need a new small phone to replace the SE, once my fiancé's SE dies he will be completely out of luck on getting a new phone.
Sorry, maybe I'm being dense, but again, where is it "cited" that Apple used the word 'discontinued'? Like I said, I know MacRumors said so, where did Apple say so? I'm happy for you to prove me wrong.
I know it doesn't really matter, but Apple themselves still claimed the SE was "Available at authorised resellers" (and still do at: apple.com/iphone/compare if you select iPhone SE) even after the date of that article you linked to.
But for consuming media and sending messages the SE is horrible to use compared to a Plus screen.I went from a iPhone 6s Plus to the SE due to me misjudging how much I would like a larger screen. The 6s Plus was just too be for me and impossible to use one handed.
I also didn't care for 3D Touch and found it to be annoying, especially during one-handed use.
