I think if they made an SE replacement that could provide the same 4.7” display as the old standard iPhone, I would buy it for sure. The text on the SE’s screen is too small for my eyes, but the 4.7” iPhone gets by just fine.
Imagine a 5.2" screen XR with a slighter smaller form factor then the iPhone 6/7/8. That would sell very well.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Apple's recent stock market woes and sales forecast issues, or if it is just a coincidence in timing.

Well I wouldn't make a direct connection between short-term blips, since distribution is logistically a long-term strategy-but I'd be lying if I said didn't think their decision wasn't influenced by the short-term corrections that occurred due to his announcements in shortfalls in iPhone sales.

That's going to be delightful for some people. I somehow found a less expensive open-box iPhone SE a couple of years ago, and it would take a lot to make me switch my most portable device for something else.

The recent revenue rethink seemed to have involved the sale of fewer iPhones than expected. Here I am, never even having been tempted by any iPhone X models because they're so large, it's hard to think of them as portable. There must be others, and Apple must know this.

Apple thinks they are listening to the public by selling lower-cost phones but just to clarify Tim, we didn't mean old phones you don't support anymore..
What are you smoking, this phone will be supported just as long as the 6S will, which means it still has about 2-3 years of support left in it.

Sorry, maybe I'm being dense, but again, where is it "cited" that Apple used the word 'discontinued'? Like I said, I know MacRumors said so, where did Apple say so? I'm happy for you to prove me wrong.

I know it doesn't really matter, but Apple themselves still claimed the SE was "Available at authorised resellers" (and still do at: apple.com/iphone/compare if you select iPhone SE) even after the date of that article you linked to.

Desperate times... No, actually, it's still a great little phone. Now they need to take the XR design, shrink it down to around the SE size, and watch how many people buy it. I'm not a small phone person but I think there's a big enough market to justify an SE2. I actually think if they stuffed the A11 processor, upgraded camera, added an upgraded display to wide gamut, they could sell this thing fro $400-$450 all day.

Shoot at that price, I'm nearly tempted to pick up a 128GB.

Let’s stop associating a small phone with budget specs.

How about they take the XS and shrink it down. A lot of people want a flagship phone with a smaller footprint.

I honestly can't find the source beyond a back-and-forth between two MR articles-I even checked the Apple Newroom. I was referring to the citing of the article MR was basing their wording of "discontinued". It might be in the Keynote, but I'm not sure since I didn't watch it.

I went from a iPhone 6s Plus to the SE due to me misjudging how much I would like a larger screen. The 6s Plus was just too be for me and impossible to use one handed.

I also didn't care for 3D Touch and found it to be annoying, especially during one-handed use.
But for consuming media and sending messages the SE is horrible to use compared to a Plus screen.
