The $509 price of refurb M4 Mac mini is silly. A brand new one direct from Apple is $499.

Also that model has 10Gb ethernet, that's 100$ extra

Education discount.
Or Microcenter, or Besy Buy with Microcenter price match (how I got mine). Anyone else concerned there are already enough issues with the mini to have the reverb program already in place?

Refurbished EDU price is more expensive than brand new EDU price

“Refurbished EDU price”?! 🙈

That's a new one!

Where are you seeing that? I've only ever seen education pricing OR refurbished pricing, but never “refurbished education” pricing!

Perhaps, that's for cases when they're rebuilding a school… 😂

You can purchase off the refurb store when in the edu store. However, the refurb pricing is exactly the same. The only difference is the "regular" price shown when in the edu store is the edu pricing, not retail.

They must have been paying attention, all M2 Mac minis are now removed from the refurb store.
Here in Canada, the M2 Mac minis are still there. However, they dropped the M2 pricing dramatically. For example, the M2 8/256 Mac mini is now CA$$439, which is only US$309. I have NEVER seen prices like this on the refurb store before.

I'm glad I sold my M1 Mac mini 16 GB / 1 TB a couple of weeks ago.

I have purchased a handful of refurb items from Apple and never had an issue...and often at a great price.

Is that right?

They're back now, with crazy low pricing... And going fast AF. Saw several models go OOS while refreshing the page a few times
Yep. Base M2 mini CA$439 in Canada which is US$309, and US$319 in USA now.

I don't think we will ever see these types of prices on the refurb Mac mini ever again after these models are sold out.

I suspect this is going to tank M1 and M2 used pricing.

I'm tempted to get a M2 Mac Mini and make my M1 a Plex server. Or should I just wait for a refurbed 24GB/512GB M4 Mini?

Some of the refurbs list the amount of the discount and others don't. Is there a way to find the original retail prices of the M2 Mini configs that don't list the discount?

Everymac.com but personally I wouldn’t worry about the original M2 pricing (esp. since they launched at higher pricing to accommodate the 8 GB tier), and would just compare against the M4 edu and refurbish pricing.

Refurb Mac Mini M2 pricing still too high. Apple did such a great job with the Mac Mini M4 that they're going to have to take a haircut on the remaining Mac Mini M2 inventory. All the refurb Mac Mini M4 is sold out in a few days but the refurb store is full of Mac Mini M2.

No surprise why -- in the US Store a Mac Mini M2 Pro w/32GB RAM and 512GB disk is $1339 refurb while a Mac Mini M4 is $999 new (not to mention edu pricing and likely another drop of Mac Mini M4 into the refurb store at a later date) as an example. The M2 Pro has a few advantages over the base M4 but they're pretty niche. At this point they'd have to drop that model to ~ $900 (>30%) for me to consider it over an M4. Or I'd just spring for the Studio M2 for those few niche cases.

I am now curious to see how quickly Apple cuts the prices on these just from a business/marketing perspective.
