Me too. Interesting that they were picked up on different days but shipping the same day. I wonder about the frequency of flights.

One down and one to go.

would anyone actually pre sign for this package? you would have to be insane
You have that option. You can also provide directions on where to leave the package, for example: your immediate neighbouring address. The final decision is up to the driver, if the driver does not think that it is safe to leave, it goes back on the truck.

I might have missed a report from somebody who has already done this, but it would be interesting if someone who got an email mentioning the 23rd were to check their order status on store.apple.com once it is functional again and see if it also says the 23rd. I'm willing to bet that it does not...Apple can make their web site show the correct thing after the fact, but cannot retroactively fix an email that they sent you with erroneous information.

I checked, no delivery date expectation is listed on the order status page.

I wonder if the ones who are receiving their shipment info now is because these orders are coming from the factory rather then Apple / AT&T's local stockpile?

Me Too !!

I received an email notice, with time stamp June 20, 2010 2:35:21 AM EDT

that my iPhone has SHIPPED. It provided a tracking number with the delivery date scheduled for 6/24/10.

The shipment is originating from LANTAU ISLAND HK and "In Transit"

We live on a farm our neighbors are not that close to us and they are all family. My wife has to leave by 3:00 pm on Thursday and if FedEx is not here by then (they normally come by 11:00 am), then she will leave the signed forms. We have had computers and everything left at our side door and no one has ever touched them. I guess that is a blessing of not living in the center of the city.

Got my tracking number email this morning

Checked fedex website and my phone is coming to my office on the 24th

The next fedex plane to leave hong kong airport which is where my phone is will be at 5:10pm pst. I will be tracking it tonight. This flight will have a lot of iPhones on it as I can see from these messages.

Apple is now canceling orders

I ordered 3, they are now cancelled by apple saying they couldn't get ATT authorization?

I am on the phone with Apple now, ATT said everything is fine.

Has anyone else had this happened?

Got mine at 2:45am. It will be delivery at 24th before 4:30pm. I will stay home to wait for them (2 lines, 2 iPhones).

where are all the ios 4 app updates? OS 4 will launch tomorrow and guess what, nothing will work and lot of bad press is on the way

Relax. Almost all apps work fine in iOS4 without modification. They will not be multitask aware however.

When the OS hits the streets officially Apple will make the iOS4 updated apps available at the AppStore.

they are actually available now. I have updated like 5 of my apps to ios4. I do have ios4 running however

I also got mine this morning at 7am pst. Set to arrive on the 24th by 4:30pm. My other order from AT&T hasn't moved yet. But my apple order shipped. Woo-hoo! :)

Yay, mine shipped too. It's nice to know I won't have to visit the mall and deal with that craziness this time. The iPhone 3G and iPad launches were enough for me. The 3GS was a tame launch of course.

Yeah I get that, but on the other hand, this is something I've paid for and is therefore something I own. I'll bet if you press the issue, you could walk out of there with your IP4 a day ahead of time.

I understand Apple can "ask" FedEx / UPS to not release until 6/24, but it's still something I paid for. Also I'm impatient.
You paid APPLE for the phone. Apple is the on who paid FedEx.

Guess who FedEx is responsible to?

Until you sign for it, FedEX sees that as Apple's package, and thus will respect Apple's wishes for it, as long as they are feasible - which holding it an extra day or two is.

I know that's how Apple has done things in the past, but doesn't it seem odd that they would say the 23rd when they could have just as easily said the 24th? I mean, it's not even in Fedex's system yet, so that "Delivers by Jun 23, 2010" isn't being pulled from Fedex's website... it's from Apple directly. Why would Apple program it to say the 23rd?
Probably because the site auto-assigns a date based off of when it ships, and they had not programmed in an override for that yet?
Eh, iPad 3G one day early isn't the same as the iPhone 4 a day before it's official launch - that would be more like someone getting the white iPhone 4 a day early.

I am convinced that a solid percentage of the population are morons . . .

I am convinced that a solid percentage of the population are morons, and reading this thread on confirms this belief.

I've read that
--the white iPhone4 will be delayed in shipping, which led to
--the white iPhone4 might have a manufacturing defect in it, which led to
--all iPhone4s might have a manufacturing defect in them, which led to
--everyone receiving an new iPhone should be worried that their phone is defective.

There's another posting here where someone relates the cancellation of their order where
--Apple notified them that their order was cancelled because their credit card had ben declined and the person stated that that could not be because his credit card is "connected" to his checking account.
--"Connected" ???
--does it mean that it was really NOT a credit card, but rather, a debit card?
--does it mean that he simply has automated bill-pay set up on the card?
--how do we know (or he know), that he simply did not have enough credit available on his card (if it was a credit card) or that he simply did not have enough money in his checking account (if it was a debit card). Had he checked with his bank/credit card company before posting?

We've read that stupid rumor about orders being cancelled if you check the status of your order more than three times in a day. Incredible.

We've read about someone stating that some of the orders may have been canceled because they violated the details of the ATT agreement and another poster stated that that could not be, because he "heard" that you could do other than the agreement stated. Just incredible.

Come on people, before you post, you need to check your facts, at-least to the level of being reasonable.

The very people who are complaining about Apple/ATT not performing perfectly are themselves unable to do their "job" by demonstrating an incredible lack of ability to get their facts straight.
