I’m confident that that’s up next. Getting the base data in house is the obvious priority but once they do, they can start getting users to build on top of that with reviews and photos of points of interest.

There could be a tie in with the Photos app where machine learning identifies photos of food and correlates that with location data for a restaurant to suggest the user share it along with a star rating.

I still can’t see the updated maps. I am on the latest iOS 14 GM.

Yeah, not sure what their rollout process is, but was hoping we'd get it with the iOS 14 release...
Also it's supper annoying that I have it on my iPad, which I rarely use for Maps... I'd much prefer to have in on the iPhone or on even my Mac...
 
The ‘new’ version appeared for me and then disappeared again not long after.

However the Flyover view has been updated around where I live so I looked at an area in Manchester and it’s the original one.
 
Don’t know when it changed but Glasgow is now showing fully 3D buildings on standard (not just satellite) view & directions. Traffic lights are also in directions & I don’t think that was live last week. Looks like some switches are being flicked, other cities may be similar.
