Is it any surprise apple is lying? Seriously. As if anyone at apple would know just how many of these occurances have happened nationally, give me a break.

I'm fairly certain they didn't say they know how many occurrences happened nationally.

Actual numbers aren't important, what's important is that sites get to profit off this non-story, MR as always right out front, and the Chicken Littles, Negative Nellies and Trolls dance their gleeful jig together as if *they* are the ones who actually realise the profit. What dupes.

Well that is what its about of course. Apple is a goldmine...and not just for apple.

Can you imagine how much money MR has made just off this overblown story alone? They know what the android fanboys wanna hear, can't knock MRs hustle lol

Apple knows how many people complained to Apple. As if they didn't know this, give me a break.

This whole thing is a fantastic example of mass hysteria.

It's absolutely ridiculous. Ludicrous. The amount of people I've seen comments from online, from both journalists and comments from the public, saying that "Apple is on a downward spiral", "this is terrible that they're not commenting on such a bad flaw in their product", etc. is just insane.

I'm all for being balanced and fair to all technology companies. I respect Apple and it's products because I have found them to be very good.

However, I must say, what is it with Apple hate lately? It's like a disease. Why do the press feel the need to fabricate articles over unsubstantiated flaws in Apple products?

It needs to stop.

You eventually learn to hate Apple, your time will come young padawan.

Think about it. Do you think anyone would care if Samsung phones bent? When you're the most valuable company in the world, you're going to get scrutinized. Comes with the territory.

It has been amusing to see the apple hate in the past week over these overblown issues. Apple dropped the ball big time with 8.0.1. But, Bendgate is a laughable joke and it's purpose IS to get people in mass hysteria because mass hysteria pays the bills for blogs and forums.

Apple, like always, will be just fine.

The next iPhones going to be made out of water. Break that! provide your own case. don't drop it or loose it :D

Try using a search engine I can get more than this 'only nine' affected just by searching. Total bs at least make it believable. Oh well.

Yep.. liquid metal. New iPhone 7 will come in a zip lock bag. MR will then report on customer's 'accidentally' spilling their phone in their coffee and drinking it. Blaming apple they can hear the phone ringing in their stomach.

Can someone repost the bit from the response from Apple where they dispute that the iPhone is bending from normal use?

I can't find it

Nope. Jony Ive hired already a senior Swiss engineer to assist on structural improvements for the iPhone 6s. A 6s Edition is also discussed.

Yeah, because anonymous postings on the internet are totally legitimate. LOL. Remember, nobody lies on the internet. LOL

First it was "back pocket's fault"... then Samsung's fault, hiring people to bend the phone, then it was carriers' fault with the 8.0.1 and now it's MR's fault...

I guess it's never :apple:'s fault then...

Apple has plenty of faults...this silly overblown story isnt one of them...its forum fodder, and mr isnt at fault, they're taking advantage of the fools who think apple is doomed because MR wants to make money. Heck I'd do the same thing.

The bending issue inspired me to do more testing.

Obviously, taking a phone in both hands and purposefully bending it is not part of normal use. Nevertheless, it is a good test of rigidity. So I decided to test other items.

I dropped a dinner plate from a height of one foot onto a counter top. It broke in two! I now have seven plates rather than eight.

I dropped a wall clock while I was attempting to reset it. The glass shattered. I removed the glass shards, vacuumed the floor, and bent the hands so that it would work again, but the face is unprotected. (From what, I don't know)

I drove my car over a nail in the street. It penetrated the tire and the tire deflated. The tire was unusable but, the manufacturer replaced it, even though it wasn't an Apple tire.

Some lady drove smack into the front of my car (!). The front end was all smashed up. Not as substantial as it had looked.

I dropped my iPhone 5 on the sidewalk and it disassembled itself. Since this betrayed an internal defect, they did not charge me for a replacement phone.

After all this, I have decided not to take my iPhone 6 Plus in my hands and bend it to find out if it is fragile. I'd rather have a phone than a pyrrhic victory.

Others should follow your lead. Best post yet.

Faked.

Although the "# of people" maybe low, but I still don't want to take my chances. At least there are 10 million beta testers from last week for both the 6 and 6+.
