For a $500-600 phone, I doubt even Apple would charge $200 for this headset. Even $150 seems excessive.
I dont think we will see it bundled but I do think we will see a reasonable price. I am guessing $100 to $120 for it. That is more than enough. Afterall, these can be had for about $50 from other companies. Even $100 is getting to much.
Its not about how much money can we make off this? its about what price will generate the most revenue? ...that price is going to be price most consumers will pay. For Apple, it is my guess that people are generally willing to pay top of the line plus about 20%, or at least that is what I would pay.
I am not that impressed. Once again apples minimalistic attitude has killed another add-on. Their computers and OS are fantastic, but there accessories IMO are worthless. Everytime I buy the latest great "new innovation" from apple, I end up forcing myself to try to like it and then ultimately buying something else that REALLY does what I need. BT Mighty Mouse - Revolutionary? Took back for a conventional 2 button bt mouse. BT Wireless Keyboard, No real media support, and battery life is horrible. Got a Logitech. (and the ipod earphones have no bass response - exchanged for Sony) I have just come to the realization that apple accesorries really aren't that good. Ironically Microsoft makes excellent accessories and crappy OS for computers.
Also, apple doesn't really make any of their peripherals. I bet you if you open it up, it says "Motorola".
It is voice activated and voice driven. You can say "iphone what time is it" or "iphone volume up or down, or call Mike" Pretty snazzy. You push the button to activate the voice commands. The voice command is not always on otherwise it would drain the bluetooth to fast.
Apple also doesn't make iPhones, or iPods, or Macs. All of the assembly is contracted out, which is why we always get rumors about such and such a company getting an order for 200,000 more MacBooks or whatever.
Personally, I'm pretty happy with my (corded) Mighty Mouse, but I haven't had an Apple keyboard that I really liked since the old Apple Extended Keyboard of about twenty years ago. And don't even get me started on their inkjet printers, which they have very intelligently stopped trying to make.
AFAIK the only "Apple assembly plant" left is Cork. One of the reasons I'm hanging on to my G5 duallie is it was made in California, not China. I have learnt to deal with the fact that my MBP was made there. I'm not Sinophobic, but I'd rather not see ALL our manufacturing going there. That's a whole 'nother rant...

So it was dietary indiscipline rather than processor heat that was the problem? That explains a lot...the overeating issues with the G5's
...I've tried Apple's earbuds and they just keep falling out of my ears. I bought earbuds that have a little thing that goes over the ears which really helps...
... Seems the overeating issues with the G5's had been the cause the majority of issues with the iMac...
