Before Apple products would stay the same for year. Now, people expect a revolution faster than products used to get revised.
But you have to realize what you just said, its COOL, but not exactly innovating, other electronics have been doing this for years, it's evolutionary but no innovation. FYI it's still awesome though![]()
As a fan of both Fox News and Apple (I know, it's kind of like dividing by zero), I do have to admit it seems Fox reports a lot of negative Apple news. Such as this: http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2013/08/08/iphone-sinks-as-android-seizes-market-share/
Which we here know is crap reporting because Apple still maintains a very good share in developed (i.e. profitable) contries.
I wish I knew why Fox takes this route with Apple.
Are you too young to remember the last decade? Their biggest successes all involved buying up companies and IP prior to continuing in house development.
Apple needs a phone with a larger screen and a phone at the $300 price point.
Do you mean in the field of medicine (saving lives)?
I guess it all depends are people getting bored with their high end Android models and moving to iPhones, or are the getting bored with iPhones and selecting something else?
I've only ever known people do the latter
Half of them being teenagers or early 20s who haven't held a real job yet.
Funny that all complainers don't create anything themselves.
Asking Tim Cook to innovate is like asking Steve Jobs to run Worldwide Operations.
Asking Tim Cook to innovate is like asking Dexter to not suck this final season.
Asking Tim Cook to innovate is like asking Breaking Bad to suck this final season.
Asking Tim Cook to innovate is like asking Twitter for 141 characters.
Asking Tim Cook to innovate is like asking Jony Ive to change the newsstand icon.
Asking Tim Cook to innovate is like asking OS X installation screen to print the correct estimated amount of time left.
Asking Tim Cook to innovate is like asking for Ocean's 14.
Asking Tim Cook to innovate is like asking for a bag of cookies where all cookies are intact.
Asking Tim Cook to innovate is like asking for Lay's to make Lay's Ketchup for USA.
Asking Tim Cook to innovate is like asking for NBC to do the Tonight Show right.
Asking Tim Cook to innovate is like asking that dude that's texting while crossing the street to walk faster.
I worked the IT industry before it was called "Information Technology". I've been around the block several times. Now retired.
Then I'm a little puzzled by the comment. I'm not suggesting they didn't develop purchased IP, but they did buy up most of the initial stuff prior to continuing development in house. I can't think of anything that wasn't constructed on top of purchased IP.
You can't even set a custom ringtone on an iPhone without buying it. These are the things consumers need.
I agree with the Board of Directors. There has been nothing *phenomenal* from Apple recently, at least not at the pace other smartphone and PC manufacturers have put out groundbreaking products.
Yup, mines running it. Without it its completely useless (I don't buy my online media from iTunes, thus don't need a $99 'pass' to view iTunes content). With XBMC its actually useful, especially since it detects your TV type so you can use the TV remote to control the ATV (Works on my Samsung one, but not a Toshiba one in another room). That's unfair. XBMC is way better than Apple TVIn fact jailbreaking the ATV and putting XBMC on it is one of the first things many customers do.
Very odd story. Does this imply that the board doesn't know about Apple's product release schedule?
