Article Link: Apple Buys iFixit, and Other 2014 April Fools' Jokes

Yay, I guess no random artist mockup of new hardware today! I guess they are done just for any other day but today :p

The only reason the iFixit story was believable was because it was so dull and boring that I couldn't believe anyone would have invented it for an April Fool.

Um, thank you? LOL

ahahha i laughed so hard at all of these... though the ifix it one initially fooled me until i got to the part about "replacability" that was epic!

Agree completely! You really can't tell it is a joke until you click and read the Replaceability index. The verbage about taking your money and complimenting you on your excellent taste is the give-away.

Real selfie-bot is now being invented.

Stars should bypass paparazzi by having selfie-bots around them until the public is sick of celebrity.

Apple soon to announce its first phone with over 60 days of battery life on a single charge. The revolutionary one and a half inch thick iPhone Brick.
Stacking up at a store near you. :D

It's too predictable now. It borders on tedium.

Sure, it's predictable. But, some of them are really imaginative -- even if they aren't likely to fool anyone.

I do like MacRumor's "Good News" blog. Some of the article titles in the sidebar are pretty funny.

But, the best part is the "top rated comments". Some of them are suspiciously close to what I see posted to real MacRumors articles, by real MacRumors readers.

Apple is expected to release 7 versions of the iPhone 6 today (4", 4.3", 4.7", 5", 5.3", 5.5" & 5.7") so that MacRumors users can shut the hellup. Capacity is expected to range from 8GB to 256GB.

:D

There, I fixed it for you. :D

i feel like the ifixit wasn't really worth the risk...acquisition activity is kind of a big deal and i think it crossed the line to falsely claim that your company has been acquired by the most valuable company in the world

Hey, I would love to see nest and Virgin America (or Delta or Jet Blue) work together for personal climate control on planes, it would be really nice to have.

What would have been funny is if Apple went along with iFixit's prank and also put the announcement on their front page. I know Apple doesn't usually participate in April Fools day jokes, but still...

Your statement would be more true (and a lot more hilarious) if ifixit were a publicly traded company whose stock rose 25% on this news. ;)

Aren't armoires book books for imacs? (however that stupid word is spelled)

The google one is really good. I love the HTML written with emoji tags.

Now, I had always thought that everything on the front page were rumors. Thanks for the clarification
