There was no need for this new complex at all.

Fair call... current one's pretty sweet and has historic value.

I'm not used to working on a 'campus' (unless it's a university) so I guess ai can't fully respect what they want our of a 'campus'. The building I work in is our 'national office' and it just that... an 'office'. We don't get a lot of perks. BTW my workplace employs a LOT more people than Apple and our 'national office' fits 40,000 people.

What advantage does this 'campus' have over Infinite Loop? To me it does sorta feel like a big company flexing its corporate power.

While it includies parks and stuff... the last thing I wanna do is walk around our offices at lunch or stock up on Apple food because there is nothing else nearby. I walk down to the lake (or to the mall/shops) to chill out. Is moving everybody away into a 'campus' really a good thing or would a little less 'show-off' be more practical? Working at an office that holds 2 or 3 times the staff capacity, I can't see the need for this monstrocity.

Sure my office looks boring, but we all work 9-5 and it's just an office! Not sure if I actually like the 'campus' model where people are presumably encouraged to do more stuff at work than... work.

The campus encourages workers to put in more hours. As to what is wrong with the current one? It's too small. Apple has employees scattered all over Cupertino.

Hopefully they'll have enough space to finally hire some engineers to keep the Mac line reasonably up to date.

It is... But I would have rather seen them spend the money spent on this for R&D. What groundbreaking products have Apple released since they started building this
You realize a brand new extensive R&D facility is part of this project.
