Listening to the Daring Fireball podcast, apparently Apple has had such an increase in employee count that they won't be able to give up any existing office space even once Apple Campus 2 is fully occupied. Had they known this would be case back in 2010 or whatever, the plans for the Campus might have looked a lot different.

I can tell you from experience that most of the US doesn't operate that quickly. In Oklahoma, it seems we don't even bother to fix pot holes. Talk about hell on an automobile.

It does look like the campus is shaping up nicely, though. I'm excited to see it completed.
The Navajo Reservation's worse: plans for a Churches Chicken about the size of a small house has been in the works for about six years now. Land was broken a few years ago and prefab walls have barely gone up. We (well my family only really because they follow Apple because of me, everyone else doesn't care) are thinking Apple Campus 2 will be up and running before this Churches Chicken opens. Probably before its even staffed.

There's no need for that, employees can watch each other across the loop with little binoculars like if they were at the opera. :p

Yes but why would employees wanna be a "peeping-tom"... Maybe Tim can better see who is been slack.. "get back to work" type voice shouting across... That's the real reason for making this round isn't it.

The roof looks like a massive slice of pie.... this is looking more and more like something you'd find in movies, not in reality.. I had to pinch myself to make sure i wasn't dreaming at the scale of it.

They better cram as many nerds in that building cuz I expect crazy things to come in the next two-three years.

18 cuts in the first 20 seconds of the video - does that drive anyone else crazy?!?
I was literally logging in just to remark about this #onlyonmacrumors  It was painful - whilst it's good to see how things are coming, the rest of the video was just a bit too jittery and fast moving to properly 'enjoy'!

It's an MTV thing from 30 years ago. It just kind of stuck.

Yeah, but that video is done in such a way that it doesn't make me want to gauge my eyes out! This one on the other hand.... ;)

So I wonder are most of the people from infinite loop moving to this new campus? Then who would be moving into IL? The only thing we've heard so far is the design team will occupy about 30,000 sq ft. on the top floor.
Maybe they actually never thought of that.. And soon they'll just have a massive campus with Tim and Jony aimlessly wondering the halls wondering what the hell Steve was thinking of anyway :D:D </sarcasm>

Because they have permission to flyover. :apple:

Doesn't matter he is flying over people/roads and if his youtube channel is monetized it is now commercial use and that is also illegal. Also it looks like he is over the 400 foot limit in some of those clips, if that is the case that is also illegal.

Something else that drives me crazy is when they cut among a half dozen people during a single sentence, each person saying one or two words in turn. You see that a lot in commercials.

About the auditorium - it looks like they are completing the roof and then will move that whole gigantic thing on top of the auditorium building. How in the world are they going to do that?

I would like to commend the engineering and editor! Most people didn't like the editing but in sync with the Video was on point! Wonder if he uses FC or Avid! Good work my friend!

Good luck trying to prosecute. The legality of drone flying is a very dynamic part of the law right now. This administration does not want the AG to start filling up the court system with small fish cases that may create a quagmire of jurisprudence.

We are right now in a Golden Age of Drones where anyone with the skills and materials can build one and sell it for a profit with little regulatory rules. It is akin to the early barnstorming days. From that, anti-competition laws trumps over any interpretation of safety or regulatory acts to further the economy. Several start-ups are marketing drone-centric, for-profit business models with the full approval of the FAA as they don't want to violate anti-competition laws. One in particular, I am investing in right now.

There are dozens of cases in the court system with land owners shooting down drones above their property. The recommended action for the AG right now is to make shooter the defendant for vandalism. In the barnstorming days, farmers were regularly shooting at biplanes flying over their property claiming trespassing because the airplane was spooking the farm animals.

From that, the Bureau of Air Commerce was set up (predecessor of the FAA) to determine property rights concerning who or what can fly over their property without it being a nuisance or trespassing. Issue is the small size, maneuverability and remote operation of drones hit a huge legal gray zone of FAA and local regulations. Initial rules that you are claiming are still up for interpretation as rules set out have yet to have any competent court challenge. They also have yet to pass any legislative review as they are just proxy executive actions.

Eventually, we'll have an interpretation and adjustment in the law but not til hundreds of groups and laws are brought to review for this new technology. I don't see this happening before the decade is out.

[doublepost=1454351645][/doublepost]Did the apartment complex just refuse to sell? I'm sure Apple offered them way above market value. I don't blame them though. Those are guaranteed rental units as long as Apple is around.
Yes they did. I had a plane ride to Cali when I worked for Apple and sat next to a guy who lived in that complex. He told me they refused to sell or were waiting for a bigger pay out. Needless to say it never happened so they built around it.
[doublepost=1454380172][/doublepost]I don't think Jony is happy with it though. He is ranting and raving mad its not thin enough.

Spot on. This what you do when the video or the acting is no good. See any Will Smith Movie.
It's also what they do with almost any music concert video in this day and age. I assume that video directors feel that wild camera swings, swipes, and pans give the music and edgy feel of energy. I'd bet it just induces epileptic fits in those so disposed. Even the last led Zeppelin movie "Celebration day" was not free from this insanity.

One camera, on a tripod, with a good view of the stage.....and keep your hands off of it!

Oh btw, I know the drone pilot guy--friend of a friend. Cool.

When you drive past the complex in Cupertino, you really can't see anything at all, so nice to see it from above. Definitely going to be one of the coolest tech company headquarters.
