5% offered here. Thanks but no thanks Apple.

I already get 5% back using my Sam’s Club card and 4% back with my CostCo card at any gas station.

I do use my card pretty often through Apple Pay but not for gas and it still looks like I won’t.

im worried to ask but are those prices... for regular? gulp.
Yep. It’s not pretty!

My next car will be electric, and I already have solar on my roof, but I’m driving this 07 Corolla into the ground!

One great thing about living out here versus where I grew up in New England is that rust isn’t an issue, so cars just last longer. Barring something unexpected, I have many years to go.

I'm in the Mid-Atlantic area and my 06 Stratus is really starting to rust from the bottom up so I know what you mean. But keeping it running up to this point has been no small feat...not exactly known for longevity compared to a Corolla lol

Wow, what all charging networks are included? Tesla supercharging, Electrify America, ChargePoint??

I love Corollas. This is my third, and I actually saw my old 99 Corolla on the street the other day! I sold it in 2010, when I bought this.

I haven’t had to do anything but regular maintenance so far, and I have upgraded the stock radio twice. It now has wireless CarPlay, so I’m set.

I actually saw a dime-sized bit of rust the other day, and was shocked and somewhat dismayed. But it was on a door jamb, so it was most likely a defect I never noticed.

For myself, I only use Costco and name-brand gas. Costco is always the cheapest of those options. Out here, Arco is the cheapest name brand, and it sometimes matches Costco, but not always.

I’m in SoCal, land of high gas prices, fyi.

I’m not at home, but Costco is about 3 miles from my house, and in an area I frequent regardless. For example, I just got gas while I’m waiting for my dog to be groomed.

I think I paid more at Costco yesterday than what it is at that Vons. I need an electric car, it’s ridiculous out here!!

The interesting part about this is that it matches the main Chase Freedom and Discover It category for Q3, and doubles it to 10%.

I swear that if Apple made the titanium card competitive by adding rotating categories and/or a daily 3%-5% back at restaurants/grocery stores, then I would consider making it the only card I use. As of now I haven’t even touched the titanium card.
Really wish they would

What good is 10% back if you always charge at home? Is Apple secretly promoting gas cars?

Totally agree! I literally have not used my Titanium Card once.

Qualifying Electric Vehicle Charging purchases includes those made with Apple Card, for use in automobiles, at electric vehicle charging stations available to the public. Excluded are purchases or rentals of electric vehicle charging equipment and similar items, EV charging at warehouse clubs, supermarkets, superstores, truck stops, and wholesale distributors.

This... doesn't really explain to me which EV charges qualify or not. Most EV chargers are in the parking lots of supermarkets, malls, truck stops, etc.

If a charger isn't located in a location like that, it's probably not available to the public.

Do any chargers actually qualify, or was the legal wording just done incredibly poorly (probably just a copy-paste from the gas section by somebody who doesn't actually drive an EV?)

I got the %10 gas offer but do I really want to scratch up my pristine Apple titanium card at the gas station magnetic reader? There are wireless contact pads but they usually aren’t activated and I don’t think Apple Card has tap to pay.

I haven’t had to charge my Tesla outside of home yet, and it’s been over 1 year. Not much need for paying at EV chargers.
