My 90 year old mom with a fico score of 850, 50 year blemish free credit history, balance payment history, no debt, own home and car, good monthly pension and investment income, and a big pile of money in the Apple Goldman savings account is saddled with a credit limit of under 2000$ (around her monthly card balance).

Keeps asking for a limit of 6k$ so she can use card without exceeding 30% utilization and dinging her Fico score.

Three times now request rejected. 180 days until she can ask again.

So in the meantime it is only used for paying her 2.99$ iCloud account and she is disappointed.

Goldman doesn’t run their business very well and drags down Apple with it.

when you find the right gas station do you keep going there or do you check it often and varies where the best place is?

im assuming you factor in time + distance + gas to get there too

Usually we just use Costco because they have best local prices.

We don’t drive out of way to get deals. Time is important.

But the 10% offer, if it ever shows up in our phones, overcomes Costco’s advantage. Local Kroger, months ago started taking Apple Pay, gives points so that factors in too compared to other non Costco stations.

I never get any of these special deals. I would use Apple Card more if I got better promotions.
Same! Though Apple Card is mainly all I have used for the last several years, and I'm about ready to defect because this is horse sht. Especially after they took away the 0% financing for unlocked iPhones for us.

I have gotten none of these offers, except the family account sign up bonus. I have been debating between Amex and Chase Sapphire. Chase is generous in a lot of ways. Amex does better for groceries and gas, which is a significant and regular portion of my card usage. I was kind of waiting, I guess, to see if GS was going to get out of the whole thing.

The unlocked iPhone thing really kills me though. I ended up buying my (soon) 15 Pro Max outright, and I'm going to pay it off immediately and collect the Daily Cash cause screw GS and Apple and this weak card.

I think I paid more at Costco yesterday than what it is at that Vons. I need an electric car, it’s ridiculous out here!!
Some states are looking at requiring electric car owners to put tracking devices in their cars so they can be taxed for road usage. When that happens, I wouldn't be surprised if you end up longing for the days of gasoline.

Amazing :p Sounds like your 90 year old mom really prizes that 850 score. Mine floats somewhere north of 800 and I just don’t care if it goes down a few points for a short period of time.

I wonder if they factor age into their credit decisions (I’ve never heard of that or have any reason to think they do. Just musing.)

We probably wouldn't know about this if it weren't for MacRumors. I don't think Apple intends to annoy its customers. I guess their hope is that the public doesn't realize that there are some benefits that only apply to a select few.
They should know better by now.

they could even add a small annual fee/another tier for some things (primary car insurance, travel rewards, purchase protections, included AppleCare+ on things, extended return windows for apple products) and wouldn't even need another card, just opt into that tier. but its just a disjointed card right now, its great for basic cash back which auto dumps into savings but currently not really anything that amazing outside of no FTF and late payment penalties. they may just have to partner with one of the larger banks to offer more incentives
We don’t use it for major purchases even Apple. We use or AMEX because warranty extension and other supplementary coverages.

I love Corollas. This is my third, and I actually saw my old 99 Corolla on the street the other day! I sold it in 2010, when I bought this.

I haven’t had to do anything but regular maintenance so far, and I have upgraded the stock radio twice. It now has wireless CarPlay, so I’m set.

I actually saw a dime-sized bit of rust the other day, and was shocked and somewhat dismayed. But it was on a door jamb, so it was most likely a defect I never noticed.
To the extent safety is important to you there have been lots of improvements on that front since 2010.

Buy it with an AMEX and you extend the warranty for a year. Also get like 90(?) days breakage coverage.

Actually I’m the one optimizing for score. The thing that makes it easy is she autopay balance pays every month never late (this is also biggest factor in fico Calc.)

Same with sister and myself.

Key think is pay all with credit cards that you can (except where there are fees to do so) and pay cars off in full each month.

Other tip get cards with no annual fee and good rebates. We use Costco visa, delta AMEX blue, and Apple Master card.

I know. That’s the only thing I worry about.

But I was in a very bad accident in my first 99 Corolla. An F250 ran a red and T-boned me in my driver side door, I spun three and a half times, and the car completely crumpled around me, trapping me, but doing exactly what it was supposed to.

I ended up with a sprained finger.

So that’s why I got another Corolla. It doesn’t have all the latest safety, but it’s built incredibly well, and I feel safe in it, even surrounded by ridiculous trucks that people can’t fit in their garages.

I don’t have this offer either. Seems very suspicious that the only offers I get are ones I would never use.
I just checked, and I don’t have it either. I have a Mobil/Exxon deal, but nothing for all gas stations.

Also, they seem determined for me to eat at Panera. I think I’ve eaten at Panera twice in my life. No thanks.

im worried to ask but are those prices... for regular? gulp.
From my experience vacationing in California and Hawaii, those prices are accurate. Now if you drive/rent a sports car or anything that needs premium gas, a full tank is about $45 to $80. Or if your car is a gas guzzler of course.

It hurts at first glance but you get used to it by shopping around and checking GasBuddy. Your best option is a hybrid or electric
