It's odd people are so worried about hard pulls. They cost 5pts or less and are temporary. If someone's credit is so on the edge that a few points is going to cause issues, they should probably avoiding adding a CC.
I know the hit to the credit score is small and only temporary. I've played the churn game before. My point is it doesn't make sense to use it on a $100 bonus when you can get more (double) for it.

My Fico is 834. But 3 hard pulls in year hurts your FICO far more than the points. Its a huge red flag that can clobber your ability to get approved for any additional credit for a year, even if you have an 834. Hard pulls stay on your report for a year.
And hard pulls are almost the norm these days for any credit inquiries and its easy to rack up without knowing it.

I don't want to be the "old man yells at clouds" guy (which I'm not as I'm under 33) but I just don't get the allure of this card.
3% is nice, sure, but the fact that it doesn't have purchase protection or extended warranty makes me so confused on why people would choose this card over a card that offers those features plus a $100-$300 sign up bonus.
Do people actually like this card because it has good integration with iPhones?
I think a lot of people get the card for the interest free payment plan on Apple items in addition to the 3% cash back. If you upgrade every other year or so, that would make sense. But then again there are a lot of people who hold on to their computers much longer. But that's why I have it, for the interest free payments.

Apple Polishing Cloth? Only $19.00

Actually...only $9.00

On the other hand, if we are going to $19, there are more options that are far more useful.
Including the 5W charging brick ($19), 12W charging brick ($19), 20W charging brick ($19), 1m USB C to USB C ($19), 2m USB C to USB C, et cetera. You get the idea.

(Meanwhile, I still wonder why some of those products are priced the same like that)

"$100 daily cash back"

Someone should sue them when they don't get $100 a day for using their new Apple Card, lol.

A lot of people have multiple cards for different types of purchases. I use a travel points card and a premium cash back card for many purchases, but I use my Apple card for all Apple purchases due to the 3% cash back and zero interest financing.

how is it so hard to believe that people like this card because it’s Apple *and* for the features it does come with (despite them not being as “lucrative” as other brands)?

it doesn’t hurt someone to have this card as well as others. it’s not like it costs $1,000 per year or if someone has this card they are forbidden from having any other card.

people like what they like. doesn’t really need a ton of justification.

now if someone argued that Apple Card was better than XYZ card when it clearly isn’t or if their score dropped significantly because this card, then I would say they’re foolish lol.

I guess I am one that does due to the phone and computer integration but also because of the security.

I use it as my daily driver instead of a debit card and then pay it off at the end of every week and I just pay it from the phone, no special trip to the computer to “pay the bills”.

I made $550 last year from everyday purchases. Could I have made $600 or so using another card? Maybe, but the ease and security make it worth it to me.

I got it just for my iTunes/apple/purchases. its nice to have.

and those complaining about hard pulls being hard on your credit, you are kidding right? I have 800 credit score generally, and man I pull all the time for random crap, always have. ive never been denied a loan or anything as a"red flag".

they dont care about pulls as long as your debt to income ratio and credit score is on point. im a card churner, so I always have constant hard pulls whenever I see reward bonuses on cards that Im over 18 months for.

$100 on referrals! Nice. I wonder how much money the writer of this post got so far from referrals. :p:p

A hard pull and ding to your credit score for $100? 🤣

Sorry, but I will not accept anything less than $200 of which there are many.

There's no hard pull unless you accept it. Its a great card imo for flat 2% cash back. Of course, lots of more options out there but overall not bad for a no annual. I think the big draw is interface for this card--really wish more cards were as nice and pleasing to use.

What is the single cheapest item for sale from Apple?
Reload $1 to your Apple Account Balance, and don’t charge anything else to the card for the rest of the month. You’ll get $100.03 Daily Cash, and the $1 will be waived when your statement is compiled on September 30ᵗʰ.

Hard pulls are actually two years.

Uh, I have 8 ccs and I pay them all off on apps that takes legit like 20 seconds. Apple Card is far from special in that regard.

I never thought I would take out a credit card as the result of a macrumors article, but here we are! The 100$ sounds nice, but by researching more about the card features, I figured why not see the APR rates it was going to offer me. Shockingly, it was 6% less (!) than a Chase Freedom card that I’ve had for over a decade. So bizarre! I don’t carry a balance over too often but that seemed like a much more favorable rate if I was being charged interest!

…and now I can quasi-justify buying one of the new Apple Watches with a zero interest ‘pay in Apple Card installments’ plan.

People who get approved for Apple Card may not have a good enough credit score for cards with purchase protection/extended warranty. The approval barrier is actually quite low from what I’ve seen, with APR often a tad lower than similar cards. Another plus for people is the 3% you earn even when you pay in installments for Apple products. Most cards will offer either a reward or interest-free installments, not both.

I’m sure. I pay several bills from apps, some of them even offer the ability to pay via Apple Pay so I get that percentage back too. Do those cards you mention offer the same security, integration, a higher cash back and extended warranty that could persuade someone like myself to give them a try? I’m not married to Apple Card but it does check off many boxes.
