I don't want to be the "old man yells at clouds" guy (which I'm not as I'm under 33) but I just don't get the allure of this card.
3% is nice, sure, but the fact that it doesn't have purchase protection or extended warranty makes me so confused on why people would choose this card over a card that offers those features plus a $100-$300 sign up bonus.
Do people actually like this card because it has good integration with iPhones?
Ya, I use it for everyday purchases via Apple Pay. Not to mention the place I work gives 3% back and I’m always making purchases at work so I get the 3% back the next day. Who cares about warranty protection and what not on general household and time of use purchases? Just want the most money back, right away with easy payment.

Quick question:

I know that you get 3% at the Apple store if you purchase with Apple Pay but what happens in situations where you give your credit card number to a friend to buy something for them and they use the physical credit card number of the apple card and not apply pay? Does it still give you 3% because its a Apple Store purchase or does drop down to 1% or 2%?

If you use the card to buy anything from Apple, you will get 3%. I used to use the card for everyday purchases, and now I mostly use it for purchases from Apple and get the 3% along with no-interest financing.

Ah got it. Regardless of using it with the physical card or using the card number on the Apple website as a guest, it's still 3% as long as it's an apple purchase?

I closed my Apple Card a month ago. I think the biggest part I miss is the ease of making payments, since they post immediately when paid from Apple Cash. Lots of people say the Wallet integration is its strength. I closed mine because of the Wallet app. I would get issues where searching for transactions and tapping 'see all' would crash the app, transactions would be pending in perpetuity (like something that I bought two years ago and paid the full balance of at the time) and it was frustrating. Even if bank apps seem clunky, at least they're accurate. Apple Card doesn't put the money part first in my opinion, and when it comes to money, you need better control and information.

I'm currently in the midst of talking with Goldman Sachs because Apple refunded something to my card after I closed it, but that's not necessarily the fault of the card, rather being unable to change refund method with online returns.

This deal seems dead. When I click the link now, it just takes me to a general application splash page with no mention of the $100 in Daily Cash.

Might have gotten a bigger response than they realized. The friends I sent it to were pretty enthusiastic.

Was anyone else hesitant of what could be described as a sketchy email? Sure, the TLD used for the email address is registered to apple, however, who is going to look at the .apple address and think that's a legitimate address? Then, when you look at the URL for the links in the email, they go through "proof point dot com," not directly to apple. Would you honestly believe the email came from apple and use a link generate by it then send it to someone who would ultimately be entering everything someone would need to steal a person's identity?

Given apple wants people who already have the apple card to refer people to apply, why doesn't the referral process start in the wallet app? This promotion isn't even mentioned in the app.

The Apple Card is actually one of the few no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee MasterCard that doesn't tie to you a specific Airline/Hotel chain. The only other one I can find is the CapitalOne Venture card.

I signed up through the referral link and saw the $100 offer. Just went ahead and made a purchase.
How do I know that it registered?
Will the cash back be credited immediately?

So I applied and got the card Friday and made a purchase. Only received 1% cash back - called Apple Card and they only way to get the $100 is if you include the email of a current card holder on your application which I don’t recall seeing.

I also applied Friday and made a purchase and did not receive the $100. I will call later and see what they say. Also I never received any onboarding email which seems weird.

I got the email and then a second email confirming my titanium card order.

My Fico is 834. But 3 hard pulls in year hurts your FICO far more than the points. Its a huge red flag that can clobber your ability to get approved for any additional credit for a year, even if you have an 834. Hard pulls stay on your report for a year.
And hard pulls are almost the norm these days for any credit inquiries and its easy to rack up without knowing it.
LOL not even close. I’m 840s when not carrying balances and pretty much always have 5+/24.

A hard pull and ding to your credit score for $100? 🤣

Sorry, but I will not accept anything less than $200 of which there are many.
Yes, but those require a high spend. With this, you can just buy a pack of gum for < $1.

Your credit must be really bad to say that :p

There was no such box, just name, address, last 4.

Ditto.

Reload $1 to your Apple Account Balance, and don’t charge anything else to the card for the rest of the month. You’ll get $100.03 Daily Cash, and the $1 will be waived when your statement is compiled on September 30ᵗʰ.
can you explain this - why is the $1 waived?

It’s called small-balance waiver. Many banks waive small balances from your statement, typically $1 or 99¢. With Apple Card, it’s $1. Some banks will waive $2.

It’s one way to get “paid” for using the first tier of iCloud, among other things.
Never knew that, thanks!
