No, I don't think it is a dumb!
It is a personal credit card, not a joined one.
If you wanted a joined one, look elsewhere. Plenty of other options for that.

Literally every CC I’ve ever had allowed you to add an authorized user.

So you can't "share accounts" meaning married couples can't have authorized users so that they can both keep track of finances?

That's kind of dumb...
Exactly. This is a complete non-starter for a lot of folks (including us). So much for being innovative...

Can you imagine Steve Jobs going on stage and releasing an Apple Credit Card? He’s probably rolling in his Cupertino grave.

“This is a day I’ve been waiting for two and a half years. Today, Apple reinvents debt....and this is what it looks like”:

True, because Steve Jobs hated money.

No sharing accounts...definitely not an option for me anymore and I was very excited for it. How stupid - that should be a necessary feature to implement.

Wonder if you could just have your account on our spouses phone... since there is no names, there's no ID to be checked.

at that point you should be using chase sapphire reserve... you would be getting way more points per $; this is a basic 2% card (note there is a fidelity visa 2% as well)

True, but I doubt many people would want to pay the $450 annual fee, although it is mostly offset by the travel credit.

So then you understand it’s only $150 annually and offers 3 points for every single dollar spent on travel and restaurant purchase without limit. You also get your global entry fee of $100 waived amongst many other perks.

The Reserve is among the top 2 cards available, with only Amex Platinum a competitor.

Still rather disturbed by this. I know Apple are sort of desperate to start exploring new sources of revenue but climbing into bed with Goldman Sachs is akin to making a pact with Satan. Credit Cards are the source of misery for literally millions and millions of people unable to escape its clutches. Shame on Tim Cook. Can’t he make money elsewhere?

As long people know what they are getting into when they sign up and Apple/Goldman Sachs keeps their end of the bargain, I don't see the problem. As for credit card debt, I don't see how Goldman Sachs is any more to blame than other credit card companies, since it's mostly an issue of how each user is managing their finances.

This assumes they will actually lower prices if interchange were capped or eliminated.
Why would a merchant in a competitive market not lower prices when costs were reduced, all other things equal?

Your comment makes me worry that people think the cash-back reward is somehow free money...

Having a credit card does not encourage debt. Poor financial planning and lack of understanding how a CC work encourages debt. Pay a CC off in full each month and you're good to go. That's no different than using a debit card - you spend the money you have.

If everyone did that then credit cards wouldn’t exist. Obviously, things are a bit more complicated in the real world.

I know, I have both cards.

This is the dumbest thing I have seen in a long time. Guys, this is just a (not as good as Citi and Chase) credit card. Nothing more. "putting no numbers on the card" is about the most braindead thing.

Titanium? Why? How much energy did it take to make that card which does nothing a piece of plastic with far less resource input cannot? Silly and wasteful.

I travel a lot, a lot, as in I own my own company and travel to China a million times a year. My plastic cards were constantly being replaced from breaking at the strip. I've had the AMEX Platinum and Citi Prestige cards and since they both went metal, I haven't needed replacing. I've had both for at least 2 years, both look brand new. I know this may not be the case for everyone, but I literally went through plastic cards every few months.
