Out of curiosity, any suggestions as to similar alternatives (perhaps beyond separate stores like Walmart/Target/Costco, which certainly work out as alternatives at times, but often enough can be limited in what they offer)?

I shop at Amazon when the other stores do not carry what I need.

In any case, I always comparison shop online before I make purchases.

My preference is to shop Walmart online and pick up at the store.

I live close to a Walmart and I find their prices generally less than Amazon.

I also like to shop Home Depot and occasionally Best Buy.

I don't subscribe to Prime since I feel that it would lock me into using only Amazon.

When I do order from Amazon, I make sure the order is large enough to qualify for free standard shipping. I may not receive the order in two days but it's almost always in 5 days or less.

The Amazon Store needs to be doused with gasoline and set on fire. All you find anymore are cheap chinese knockoffs with fake 5-star reviews. Can't trust anything anyone says about products anymore.
Welp, either all their customers are ok repeatedly getting trash products, or this isn't true. Personally I've only been unsatisfied once, and it was a $5 SD card adaptor.

Yeah this is a good thing tbh, as a consumer you're simply leaving free money on the table if you aren't using a card with better benefits. Amazon Prime Card gives you 5% back on every purchase, and if you can't get approved for that there's several others which are great: Citi Double Cash is 2%, Capital One Quicksilver is 1.5%, etc. many offer additional cash bonuses as well.

Literally the only place worth using the Apple Card is the Apple Store. Unless you simply don't care to maximize your financial benefits.
Yeah I'd prefer that none of this crap exist. Not going to keep track of a separate credit card for every store I buy from.

Why the heck would anyone want to use the Apple Card with Amazon? I understand that some people only want to use one card for everything. However, if you are able, get the Amazon Prime Card to get 5% cash back.

Edit: I understand the potential anti trust violations. Of course Amazon should allow the Apple Card to be used. I am simply saying the best from a consumer perspective.
Even if you don't have that one there are a number of 2% cash back credit cards that would be better than Apple Card.

Your preferred method isn’t a reality. [And this is coming from somebody who exclusively Will only shop at stores/gas stations that support Apple Pay.] But there are those instances where the Apple Pay terminal sometimes experience errors where there is a network connection error, where are you do have to use your debit/credit card. We’re not to a point with technology where we can completely abandon away from plastic cards, not when technology can easily go ‘off-line’ at a moments notice, where you will need your plastic card as a default method to pay for your items.
Good point but when away from home area and at the time of payment if the network doesn't work(network connection error) than what good is plastic card ? Retailers don't use mechanical card print with customer signature for payment. One scenarios is when you need cash, your credit/debit card let you withdraw cash from bank ATM but only if in network.
Hopefully, someday your iPhone wallet app will let you withdraw your money from ATM/bank teller so you don't need plastic card.

Should Apple Card users on Amazon be worried? Was this some sort of security breach?
Seems like some type of technical issue that looks to be resolved (or in the process of being resolved) at this point.

More and more people in my area notice that most products are also much more expensive than elsewhere on the Internet. There are price search engines, which are very helpful.

A bit too extreme sir, there are lots of hard drives, components, known brands, replacement pieces, etc that have worked for me without a sweat.

Sometimes it might feel sketchy depending on the nature of the product, I once bought some Beats Solo2 ear foam replacements... and it was so good (miles better than the original) that a year later bought one for my sister and a year later than that for a brother of mine, respectively when theirs worn out. Each iteration had a “refreshed” installation process and better materials, the last one being pretty much perfected.

When having a quick chat on a YouTube comment praising the product, the person happened to be located on a small shop in the US. Maybe there’s a way to avoid cheap knockoffs if it were more prominent and we could check the where and how’s of the products?

A huge and veteran e-commerce like Amazon couldn’t figure out a normal credit card payment method? Maybe it’s about the data sharing stuff....

There are some people that just don’t care and I’m someone new to that category. Every possible store you shop at has a reward credit card of some kind. I used to care back in the day and I had a ton of credit cards for each type of situation. Years went by and I got tired of managing it all, constantly watching so many cards for possible unauthorized transactions and having to determine when to make payments when one gets a balance. I check my main bank accounts that have our credit cards included in same login and I can see everything at the same time. I no longer
Care that we don’t use our target card to get us an extra 2% back Bc having to constantly login and look and manage all the sites takes time and my time is worth more than a few % back. Again, every place you shop at has same type of thing and it’s never ending. Amazon would be 1 of MANY cards you’d have if you took this approach at every place you shop. Some of us value simplicity over saving a few bucks.

If the goal was to have one card that does everything (without having to manage extra stuff) getting a 2% cash back card (Citi, PayPal, etc.) is probably a better buy than the Apple Card which only gets 2% on using with Apple Pay. In order to use the Apple Card on Amazon, you have to use the actual digits which only get 1%. I totally understand your point. However, using the Apple Card (especially by itself) is not optimal. With that in mind, the Apple Card can be great with a portfolio of other cards. I guess you aren’t target though.

What you originally said it wouldn’t matter if it were an Apple card or a Citibank card, your focus was on the Amazon card. And I actually do have an Apple Card, it’s easy to use and it’s integrated right into iOS so I can see balances and track things easily. My point was in regard to each store has their own type of card. Some people aren’t focused on each little % you get in rewards, some prefer the ease of use. IMO, Apple Card falls into that category.

Apple Pay, through Apple Card, gives you 2% cash back on Amazon. 🙄

Yeah its decline has really become problematic and alarmingly fast. They still have quality stuff but it’s buried among junk and counterfeits.

The fine print on the Amazon card is only 2% cash back at restaurants and gas stations and drug stores and 1% everywhere else.
