Anyone consider that maybe Goldman Sachs is the problem and not Amazon? 2 weeks ago ATT charges were being labelled as being paid to a small Texas tax firm. Said firm had to disconnect their phone lines to stop all the pissed Apple Card customers calling wanting their money back, which the firm never had in the first place.

Don't you just love it when an uninformed customer service agent, in a pure wild guess, just throws a basket of knives out at you to get you off the phone?

Not really. Unless of course, the customer is being disrespectful or asking the same questions over again hoping to get an answer clarified, which the customer service representative can’t answer for reasons Unbeknownst to them. In the context of Amazon customer service, I’ve never had an issue with them making me feel forced off the phone, and I’ve called them dozens of times over the years.

Anybody the preordered an Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5, this is probably going to screw you. Any changes of payment or address almost always results in loss in place in line.

Yep, and it happens in many companies, including Apple. I had an Apple rep tell me just to wait a few days and my issue would fix itself.

The problem is that front line reps are just scripts readers. They are taught to walk through their troubleshooting steps in an exact order. The problem is when the issue does not fall in to the "regular" issues, the troubleshooting steps don't work. This is especially problematic for for issues that happen unexpectedly and multiple quickly. Chances are Amazon Engineering team is working to figure out exactly what happened, if they don't know. However, until they can troubleshoot the issue and provide a solution (either fix it or provide a way for the user to fix it), there is not much they can communicate to their support teams.

On a tangent, it is amazing how issues by companies are addressed on this site. When an issue happens, the default is always to blame someone beside Apple, even it is apparent that Apple could be at fault. If the issue is obviously an Apple issue, the next response is "It not a big deal" or "It only affects a small number of users".

However, if the issue is someone else's fault, the post act like the world is ending or that there is some big conspiracy against Apple.

Anyone with common sense would look at this issue as probably a technical issues. Why would Amazon want to limit sales? There is NO reason. Amazon gains nothing by preventing people from paying with an Apple Card.

Occam's Razor. The simplest explanation is probably the correct one.

I signed up after failing to get the Apple Card to work and received a $60 Amazon gift card - paid for the items I was purchasing today

interesting, i'm seeing a $100 offer. i was thinking of the amazon card, 'cause i do buy a whole from them, and 5% is quite attractive. just feels like i would be cheating on my beautiful apple card :))

AMAZON is EVIL! Walmart is same to me as don't accept ApplePay. Costco,Target and rest of retailers are better who accepts ApplePay for customers convenience. Once my Driver license and Passport goes on iPhone; don't need to take wallet with me. Let me be free of plastic cards.

Many similar posts to yours, but this 850 credit score will answer your...simplicity. Having just one bill to pay, that can easily be paid off daily by just opening the app and having a facial scan...simple. Cash added daily to the Apple Cash card. I got my Airpods Pro "free" last December, and just put $486 towards my wifes stainless steel series 6. Using multiple cash cards, getting the reward in numerous ways...it is so easy, (and from an identity theft perspective)-easy to keep track of 1 cards uses. If any of my other cards is charged for anything, something is up. My electric bill, internet, YoutubeTV...everything on Apple Card. I wouldn't have it any other way. The small amount of difference probably adds up to less than my hourly wage managing/paying extra bills and reward redemptions.

Are you giving them the "alternate" last 4 digits # found in the app?

That happened to me last fall at a car rental in Montreal (Thrify, I think? about 90% of them are the same company). The attendant said they couldn't use a card with no numbers printed on them; I tried to show her the card numbers in the app, but nope. Her manager said the same thing.

I have other credit cards so it wasn't huge deal, but it was odd.

Your preferred method isn’t a reality. [And this is coming from somebody who exclusively Will only shop at stores/gas stations that support Apple Pay.] But there are those instances where the Apple Pay terminal sometimes experience errors where there is a network connection error, where are you do have to use your debit/credit card. We’re not to a point with technology where we can completely abandon away from plastic cards, not when technology can easily go ‘off-line’ at a moments notice, where you will need your plastic card as a default method to pay for your items.

Yawn. I get 3% on quite a bit. Amazon is cheap, only 1%. You do realize that you simply won’t get rich on any cash back card? It’s diminimous
Sure, but more money back is more money. All these banks and corporations look for every little way to rip people off, folks should try to educate themselves to take as much advantage of any financial benefit possible.

You guys have different terminals for apple pay than plastics?

The Amazon Store needs to be doused with gasoline and set on fire. All you find anymore are cheap chinese knockoffs with fake 5-star reviews. Can't trust anything anyone says about products anymore.
If you’re smart and do your homework, you can easily avoid the Amazon pitfalls.
