Spotify is a subscription service that gives you access to their entire library. Nothing in these news leaks about iRadio suggest that. It seems they will just add a way to buy the songs. It's really a shame if they don't provide a subscription options like Spotify.

Except that Apple already has access to an entire library. Spotify is iTunes meets Pandora. I think it would make the most sense for Apple to go more down that path.

I hope so. But we haven't seen any details leak of a Spotify type service. So far only streaming. Hopefully they can integrate some features into the iTunes Match service.

So perhaps my post about performance royalties is not so relevant to this specific situation....? But hey, just wanted to educate everyone a bit :)

Education is good and it makes a difference from the usual insults which get thrown around on most forums :)

Thanks

who really cares... its not streaming..is it...?

This will just be "another radio service" to try and be better than those already Spotify, Pandora, lastFM, type services that is way better than anything else out there, so i don't see how "a non streaming service" from Apple can possibly change anything.

Don't quote me on this :), but I stand by me disappointed groan..

Well, if you consider that passbook, Game Center and newsstand have been universally reviled, I hope that iradio (or whatever it gets called) doesn't end up as just one more app to tuck away in a folder. :p
