For instance, Apple sells 福袋 (Lucky Bag) in Japan during new year. Do I need to list them all out? Just because MacRumors makes an article out of it doesn’t mean that Apple has no regional cultural celebration in other countries. They also celebrated Indian festivals. Problem is that whenever China is mentioned some of you people get crazy and get a free pass to attack.
I don’t know about Japan, but I’m from India, and I don’t know what you’re talking about. They’ve never done anything on any Indian festivals.

There’s clear signs of neglecting the market. Leave alone doing something, the apple store app doesn’t even have India as an option, even though you can purchase stuff from apple.com. You cannot exchange MacBooks on their site, the exchange offers on iPhones are laughable, and the prices of iPhones are STILL atrocious. Taking all this into consideration, custom products for our festivals is a far cry.

I want one with the Statute of Liberty for the July 1st holiday in the United States. Maybe if the U.S. threatens Apple with revocation of its business license we can get one. But, I guess I wouldn't want one then.

Main issue I have with this: It's not just China celebrating the year of the Tiger, but all Asian cultures that follow the Lunar calendar. Unfortunately, they've "cornered the market" and got it named "Chinese New Year"...but that's in general. People on the street in the US would pretty much call it "Chinese" vice "Lunar".
People in China call it the Lunar New Year, it is the western media that have dubbed it Chinese New Year. Is most likely because Chinese in the U.S. are the ones who make a big deal out of it and are the most visible.

I still think the Ox design is better ?

Luckily for Apple, there are no Chinese in the rest of the world.

Geez, why people are so uptight? It's just an extra mark and engraving. Everything else is the same Airpods, same color, same features. You guys do realize you can also do free custom engraving right? You can put your own fav emoji or animal. Put your own Christmas tree emoji on yours. What's the big deal?

You guys want to be woke, but it's pathetic being "outraged" by a mere marketing gimmick.

Chinese New Year only?? No other holidays?

Completely pandering to the Chinese market and government.

Pandering to a market? You mean trying to sell product? Isn’t that what all businesses do?

Also you missed the opportunity to call it pandaing, which you shouldn’t ha.

Seriously! You need to do some research before stating it like facts. Maybe start from finding a friend from Hong Kong or Taiwan and learn some culture first.

Yeah, look at Christmas here. There are quite a lot of people that 'don't celebrate it', but are forced to go along with it.

Which makes me wonder why Apple doesn't sell special versions for US holidays. I mean, I can imagine why, but it's just odd. How many people would buy special versions of Air Pods just because they are 'limited editions'? I mean, if I could buy those Tiger (Tigger) themed ones, I'd do it. Call me stupid, but I would save them for when my current ones die. Plus they LOOK GREAT! Candy cane swathed Air Pods would be awesome. Green ones for St. Patrick's Day would be awesome too. Hmm... I draw the line at pink ones for Valentines Day. :D:cool: But once in a few years would be good for special ones for the states...

Christmas is not an American holiday, it's a Christian one. The correct thing to do is for Apple to make a Statute of Liberty version for the July 1st -- a holiday for all Americans. They will not because ... well, we all know.

Sorry, you are right... NEED MORE COFFEE!!! July 4th?

True story: Someone asked if other nations celebrated July 4th Independence Day. Um, why? Do we celebrate Bastille Day? (I would think 'Independence Day II' would kill any urge anyone would want to celebrate it after watching that turkey)

I guess my point to the poster before me is that there are majority of Han Chinese people in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and people do celebrate Chinese New Year there, in fact, the word "kung hei fat choy" is Cantonese and I believe it was brought over by immigrates from HK. In terms of celebrate CNY or not, that's a personal choice, similar to Christmas just because some people don't, that doesn't stop shops selling Turkeys (in the UK), having Christmas decorations and having Boxing Day sales. I am not a Christian, but I celebrate Christmas with my family, I think Christmas has gone beyond religions meaning now.

In terms of the special edition APP, it's cute, but for me my APP is in a case anyway, no one would see the engraving. So it would be a waste, I'd buy a heavily discounted pair from Amazon instead if mine are broke.

It's celebrated in the United States. Also, it's a beautiful symbol as well. It would look great on Airpods. I am afraid Apple lacks the courage to it unless it feels it needs to ingratiate itself.

As for the Chinese New Year symbol, it looks nice as well.
