Tim Cook personally builds Macs and has no time for pride marches.

Macos is getting a massive update come September and if you don’t think New macs are coming with it then you’d be idiots. FaceTime groups would be a big thing for desktops and since it needs the camera array from iPhone X then it leads me to believe this is coming to all Macs and with it it would bring FaceID which solves their biometric problem (how to have touchid on keyboards that aren’t touchbar MacBook).

Don't know about over there in the States but over here in the UK it is common for large Corps to sponsor pride marches, bluntly put it is cheap good quality brand enhancement work. I'd wager that over here there are very few people in Apple's target market that would be anti-LGBT rights anyway so on the surface would seem a good fit for a campaign. I will have to get someone from over there to explain what you mean by 'Liberal', personally am pro individual freedoms (which is what this is all about to me) but would consider myself right-leaning economically so I don't see how being 'Liberal' is bad for business!

Cook would be a better activist than CEO of a multi billion dollar company. Try making a good computer Tim, you guys have made total garbage for the last 5 years. How's that Mac Pro coming along?
Tim is the reason we even have Mac computers and iOS stuff to this very day.

- Designing mobile chips that is arguable the most efficient one to date.
- Designing a family of mobile chips to complement the bet in mobile (Sx, Wx, etc).
- Designing biometric security rivaling Hollywood motion capture in a size of your pocket (FaceID)
- Designing AR ecosystem, complete with mobile APIs and software+hardware integration
Just to name a few.

Steve Jobs removed "computer" from the company's name long time ago. Apple is a technology company, not a PC company.

Apple is a publicly traded company. If Tim Cook wasn't a good CEO, the board of directors would've voted him out. No secrets here, it's the same as any publicly traded companies.

Steve Jobs was a brilliant CEO and the board of directors voted him out?...

I suppose that this "CEO" knows that taking a polarized ideology as his company image is going to reduce sales from the part of society that thinks different. Because, once upon a time, Apple was about tools that helped think different, while now Apple is all about toys (not tools) for thinking like the media wants you to think.

And this "CEO" has even "courage" to say he's not into a political career. So, he aims at doing within Apple things that belong to a political party rather than to Apple.

There must be some stickers that hide the Apple logo for those who think different to Tim.

Is any of this stuff even having an effect on our society? I mean, I see bigotry running rampant every day. The president is bigoted, the people who voted him in are bigoted... we are no better off than we were thirty years ago.

The parades, the forced diversity by Hollywood and the gaming industry, the SJW online... it all just feels empty and pointless. Human beings are always going to be flawed.

Get off social media. You mind will thank you for it.

You know, it would be nice not to come here and listen to a pack of howling dogs.
Eh, the tone here is already pretty tame by normal standards.

Cook is spending an increasing amount of his time positioning Apple as an agent of change in the world. I think this will be Tim Cook’s legacy - the values he has emphasized to push the Apple experience forward.

No doubt there are some who care only for a new Mac Pro, but I feel this is fascinating to follow nevertheless.

Why is CEO in quotes? He is the CEO. If gay people are polarizing to you, then you clearly don’t have the same belief system as Mr Jobs, who clearly didn’t have an issue with Tim. Also, what exactly is the name of this magically gay political party?

You seem to have a lot of hostility toward Apple as a company as well as the product path they have been on for a decade, so exactly why are you here? Tim is the CEO. You never will be. He won’t turn straight no matter what you wish. Apple staff has no problem with him but they very likely would have a huge problem with you, so perhaps a forum about Acer or RedStar OS would resonate with your mindset a little more. I doubt that Apple really was ever targeting your market.

I wish people here didn't feel the urge to melt their (valid) poor opinion about Apple with their (often not-so-valid) political opinion.
A huge amount of categories of people act like the LGBT community, making loud, colorful and sometimes decency-challenging celebrations of their lifestyle: students, sports fans (once or twice every freaking week, somewhere with violence you never see at gay prides), nationalists (*cough*).
The others rarely get the same amount of snobbing remarks about how they're supposed to show who they are. This proves almost each and every one of those remarks is pure homophobia.
If you feel like you should somehow use this kind of celebrations to attack Apple or viceversa, please, think twice.

being homophobic isn't "thinking different", its "thinking wrong".

What media? if you have half a brain and a shred of empathy you cannot be against what is essentially basic human right. get a grip on reality.

human rights is not a political thing, people who are against them made it political.

No.
We can all have our opinions and if people want to call out Apple then so be it. It’s called freedom of speech, and even though this site tries to mute it sometimes, it does mean people should not be muted just because you don’t like it!

Personally I find the entire thing very tiresome now, I don’t think their is anything a gay person can’t do a straight sex person can’t do.. yet still they carry on.

First off, you're making up my opinion, so you've just joined some imaginary argument. I never said people shouldn't be allowed to make those remarks. I said I wish they didn't feel the need to make them.
I really think you don't understand how freedom of speech works: you can say whatever you want, unless it directly promotes violence (because some criminal boss saying "kill that guy" is a killer, despite having just said something and violence should always be the limit to freedom).
You people here are saying something that doesn't directly promote violence but that, in my opinion, is related to hateful behaviours. So you can say that but, by the same freedom of speech, I can say how much I disagree, I can say I think you're wrong and you should not say that (let's be clear again: you shouldn't say that, not that you shouldn't be allowed to say that).
So, no punishment for people saying something but the rest of the world has the right to reply.
Freedom of speech doesn't mean you can say what you want without anyone being allowed to say how much they think you're a jerk for saying that.

About the site trying to "mute freedom of speech"... it's their site, they can handle things how they want. Just like homophobes who get censored can make their own site. But they should hurry until AppleRumorsAndStraightPride.com is still available.

Still not sure what the job title of the person who does Mac updates in conjunction with organising Pride events but clearly some people here seem to think they’re not doing a good job ‍♂️.

I would suggest that Apple being openly progressive and supporting these issues is good advertising and makes them more money than it costs.

Do you REALLY think Tim Cook personally “does Mac updates?” Do you REALLY think he somehow personally organized Apple’s staff and their spot in Pride? Do you know anything at all about job functions, departments, or corporate structure? And finally, can you please entertain us and tell us exactly how many computers Steve Jobs personally engineered and/or built?
