Be careful, Rand Paul (and general Libertarians) are not as socially liberal as they claim. Most have outspoken against equal rights, specifically for the LGBT community. Hate crimes against the LGBT community are seeing a rise, with recent murders in NYC Greenwich village and many other attacks. Some believe it is a backlash against the recent huge strides in equal rights across the nation. Either way, I don't view any one party as socially liberal. I am fiscally conservative and socially liberal, I base my views on the merits of each case and not towing any party line. I wish most Americans would turn off cable news, venture outside their homogeneous suburban enclaves and meet people of differing cultures, class, race, etc. It's one of the reasons coastal/global cities tend to be more liberal socially.

I am not a Libertarian, but your implication that Libertarians are in any way associated with hate crimes against members of the LGBT community is ridiculous.

1) Who ever says "Oh, the law says I don't have to pay that much, but I'll pay it anyways"? Is there even a mechanism to pay the government extra?

1b) Plus their shareholders would probably use them!

2) Is this money Apple earned overseas or money they earned here and then sent overseas?

While I don't agree with what Apple does with taxes. They aren't doing anything wrong. If we don't like it, we should change the laws...
Hypothetically if we were to completely overhaul our tax system, it would end up worse off than it is now (it would benefit the rich and their corporations and screw over the little guy). The hands of lobbyists, lawyers and special interest groups would make sure of that.

The 30 billion that Levin is talking about has all been taxed in the original jurisdiction. Levin's contention is that the 30 billion has somehow avoided all taxation. This is not correct.

You misunderstood, I meant no correlation between the two. It was simply a statement that as hate crimes have been increasing, I do not consider myself a Libertarian as some suggested they are socially liberal. Rand Paul has been on record with his stance on equal rights for the LGBT community. Does that mean he held the gun that killed a man in Greenwich Village? No, but his influence certainly isn't helping. However, I did not make a direct correlation. :)

McCain's tactics: Begin by disingenuous praise, throw in some average "Joe" references, then make a passive-aggressive lead in for attack.

You are a whole new level of lost.

They dealt with HUMAN NATURE. Human nature hasn't changed much at all in 1000's of years. The wisdom of the the US founding fathers is the most precious thing this nation holds. Their lessons and their blood IS who we are and it drives and defines who we are.

Government like the one we have now is nothing this nation hasn't seen and defeated before. It's a shame that it is our government that is the enemy of the citizens and not the ally.

Bull. The founding fathers would have cast you all out as Satan for the witchcraft that is electricity. The founding fathers wrote in the right to bear arms which is the worst lingle line of ANY law anywhere in the world.

They wouldn't have known what to do with the mess that is the US economy any more than the current one does which was screwed up by Bush.

- Levin says domestic companies that are not in a position to offshore their tax burden are at a competitive disadvantage. He accuses Apple of being partially responsible for the sequester and other budget cuts because of its tax avoidance strategies.

- He says Congress should close the tax loopholes that companies like Apple use, even if they don't pass a rework of the overall corporate tax system.

LOL.
So Congress passes laws with loopholes and its Apple's fault?
