No they are not forward thinkers. It is just reuse of old communist propaganda as justification for their beliefs as being the future and everything else of course is backwards.
Liberal really just means against status quo. Now depending on what that is it could be good or bad in reality.
One day, you may grow up and realize that both parties are EQUALLY hostile to the average US citizen. They just have different rhetoric, to woo the simpletons to donate and support them.
So it is ok that other peoples taxes go up but yours?
You're trying to sell me on a new tax system that will raise my taxes, and the taxes of most of the middle class.
So sell it.
Explain why my taxes should go up, and the taxes for Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Donald Trump, etc. should go down and corporate taxes should be eliminated in the bargain.
Explain how all the loopholes you'll have to ultimately create are a good thing, and don't sully the pristine nature of your "perfect tax" system. Explain how, in 20 years, it won't be just as riddled with loopholes as the current tax code, but I'll be paying more taxes in the bargain.

What is a loophole? A loophole when created is often a carefully thought out exception to a law that is specifically crafted by congress. Time passes and they don't update the law and then they grandstand about loopholes. Loopholes! They put them in the law for a reason, if they are too stupid to remember the law they should change the law.
It's instructive to remember democracy is simply the least horrible way we have found together to live peacably.
Oh yeah - and isn't this small potatoes? Last time I checked the executive branch was spying on reporters and using the IRS to attack their political enemies. These issues go way beyond right and left or silly tax questions.

A tax that is a whopping 15%. Woohoo! It should be 35% tax and the top marginal tax rate should be closer to 70%.
Senator McCaskill just said it all. This isn't about Apple. It's about the tax code and whether or not it need to change. That this isn't or shouldn't be a witch hunt (my paraphrasing) but rather it will be good to hear from Apple as it related to this discussion.
He's an embarrassment. So glad he wasn't elected in 2008. He scolded Rand for daring to "bring a spotlight" to the travesty that is the US Senate.
That was a very unnecessary comment from him, for sure. It was neither the time nor the place.
