If we allow ourselves to exclude all concerns beyond "business" and/or "stock price" concerns, we're on a path to a hollowed out soul in life and society.

I would never expect Apple to not interact with any administration in the US, but going to the lengths Tim has gone to is where I object. There were more passive and defensible routes to take that could have also allowed him and Apple to maintain their integrity.

We Americans wanted what? Clearly a change and we got it. For better and worse. the majority ruled in this case. Pick your poison.

I don’t think any less of apple or Tim Cook nor do I believe Apple or Tim has compromised their “ideals”. YMMV.

I agree. There was an election and the outcome is what it is. That outcome comes with bizarre rules and bizarre decisions which affect everyone. Cook is doing what he needs to do to guide Apple through some crazy years ahead.

This American attitude of black and white thinking never ceases to amaze me.

He did, didn’t he? People need to do what they need to do. And if this is a major issue with some turn it into an action plan for selling you Apple products and stocks.

He really has sold his soul for that job, ok’ing removing gay apps from China and now attending this dinner to a prolific anti-gay country. As a gay man he should be standing up to this stuff more

How can Tim Cook pal around with a President calling for the death of Democrat Lawmakers? Simply because they asked the military personnel to follow the Constitutional Laws of the land and not follow unlawful orders. Simply stunning and insane.

Apparently morals and ethics didn't matter for Americans either when they went to vote last time.

Tim Cook is guiding a 4 trillion company through a government, run by a crazy guy. That is Tim's present from the American people after the last election. That's his reality and it's something he has to deal with.

There's 2 possibilities.

The first one is that Tim Cook absolutely hates dealing with all this but he does it anyway because it's his job.

The second one is that Tim Cook isn't who we thought he was, and that all the humanity that we associated with Tim Cook and/or Apple is fake.

I believe the first. I think Tim Cook gets no pleasure in having to grobble with a crazy president and hand him a fugly gold plaque to be on his good side.

Less than 1/3 of eligible people voted for this crap and less than 1/2 of those that did vote , voted for Trump and a good portion of those voted based on his lies. Unfortunately millions of the rest chose not to vote at all. The majority of SANE, non-racist, non-wealthy, non Christo-fascist people - in other words, normal every day Americans - did not ask for any of this.

Doesn't really make a difference what the numbers are. Apparently your voting system allows a president to win with an absolute minority of people.

I didn't hear anyone bringing up this argument when Biden won.
