Oh what a ridiculous analogy. Not the least bit relevant.Valid question. Lets examine:
Let's apply this to another type of power - why can't the stronger one just kill the weaker one in a society? I mean - he has the power so he can do as much as that power allows him.
Our society is a contract with the goal to provide value to us all (equally I would say). If unchecked power is detrimental to our society as a whole we put checks and balances on it - you are not allowed to use your physical strength to murder or steal. So why do we allow unchecked fiscal power?
I agree to an extent. I'm all for Capitalism, but we need a modified version of Capitalism at this point. There is no reason anyone on this planet should earn 10's of millions of dollars in one year. I'm also not saying people who do nothing should get free money either. But the people who do work, should all get a bigger piece of the pie.Today, someone famous said CEOs shouldn't earn more than $5 million. I agree.
This is America. Greed is more important than God.Steve Jobs took less pay, Tim is greedy
And twitch his legs intermittentlyAs long as you define "services" as saying Good Morning in a keynote video.
Right. He was paid less than he should have earned. He was paid 74 million. He didn' t earn 74 million.
Not when one considers the scale of what Apple is accomplishing under his guidance. It doesn't matter how much Apple makes or the size of the company.
It's an obscene amount of money
I’m still in the Apple fold, but Tim Cook is the only reason why I’m transitioning to android products. 🤷♂️
I'm not sure how people go on about their lives if they are upset on what someone else makes. I am certain that's not the only things they are upset at if that is the case. Our needs and mental focus needs to be directed at things I can do day to day, year by year. If I wasted emotions into this, it would take priority. My father once gave us kids some advice:
- Don’t be jealous or expend energy over someone who has more than you do.
- Don’t look down on people who have less.
Seem to be a lot of the former in here.
No. It is an obscene amount of money. Period.People are going to complain, but that’s not an obscene amount of money. Considering Apple is one of the top five companies, worth 3-4 trillion, it’s hard to get upset about it
Absolutely agree. Honestly, am I just stupid naive to think that at some point you could honestly say, "I have more than enough for me and my family for the rest of our lifetimes", and simply give the rest away? And I suppose I don't know that he's not. But it is so odd that we live in a world where one human gets this when there's so much need, so much good that could be done.NO One should be paid that kind of money,
No One.
